Not worth the money I would have been more comfortable at a hostel. Heater was broken and the home was freezing, the water heater didnât work so there was no hot water for showers or to wash your hands. The kitchen sink was unusable due to a leak. Check out was at 10am however you have to leave before 10am or you will be charged. I wouldnât recommend this to people travelling the area as itâs in the mountains and it cold you are going to need a heater and hot water
we would prefer to have been able to communicate with any staff or owner prior to getting there.
the house was beautiful, complete kitchen. very clean.
the rooms were enough for us.
the living room was a plus, allowed us to talk and bond,
better if there were two showers, one shower for a family of 9 was rather difficult.
Apartment: Spacious and very comfortable. Kitchen very well stocked. Two bedrooms on ground floor next to toilet and bathroom which made it very convenient for travelling with elderly and kids (tweens). The room on the second floor is nice as a master bedroom. However the ground floor rooms have no blackout curtains / blinds.
Nicely furnished.
Location: 10min walk to Hakone Yumoto station and many shops along the way, including convenience stores. Good location overall but this is an uphill climb so if youâre coming with heavier luggage, be prepared. We took a cab in so that was easy. This is in a quiet residential neighbourhood but there are a few hotels nearby and one lively hostel a few steps away that serves food and may give a bit of change for dollar notes.
Amenities: The washer and dryer have to be separately paid for using a coin (300„) operated machine.
Hosts: not much interaction needed because they gave clear instructions on how to enter. We cracked a glass and they were understanding about it.
Overall Iâd stay here again if coming in a big group. Just be aware that shops and restaurants close early in Hakone, many by 7 or 8pm.
Very clean and filled with amenities. Really love the area as it is quiet. The walk from the main hakone area may be difficult as it was quite a steep walk
Absolutely wonderful Japanese home, very cozy, large enough for the whole family, many bed and there is a convenience store as well as a restaurant or two not too far away walking. 10/10 experience.
Our first time to experience not staying at full facilities hotel.
This property do provide most of the items i.e. towels, tooth brush etc just like most hotel do. As its self check in unlike hotel that front desk will do the rest. To highlight area can be improve like communication can be better if owner are targeting other than Japanese as English will serve as comon communication to most. Hence all communications right from booking to signages back in property good to have instructions in English too.
As for upon confirmation for booking email reply good to have both Japanese and English too. In addition, 4 digits pin to access main door duly provide.
Our experience costs us quite a bit in making international call to get help for getting accessing code and struggle to speak to cs which speak only Japanese. Delayed for 40mins before we managed to get in.
Overall our stay is rather pleasant for 2, this property can accommodate up to 7 persons so bigger family or group might want to consider. Of course some additional costs will be changed by person.
Will consider to stay again.
