Property is conveniently located near the Toa Luau - Waimea Valley Gardens, Ted's bakery and numerous beaches on the north shore of Oahu. It was a convenient place to stay and served as a launching spot for a day of touring. We were there a short period of time 9 PM - 7:30 AM and were appreciative of a private tiny home with a beautiful porch. Star gazing was good and the morning view of a well-kept back yard was nice. Communication with the host could have been better. We sent a message asking for check in details a on December 26th when we had reliable internet. We received a reply to the message with check in details and pictures on January 4th when the internet was spotty. Check in time was 4pm so we had to wait until after our luau event to check into the property in the dark around 9PM. It was difficult to find the correct the red flag on a stick obscured by vegetation. There were no lights to help guide the way. The listing indicates a washing machine was available but no indication of where that might have been. There is a 150 cleaning fee yet there were small gnats in the house particularly in the bedroom and bathroom. There were dust bunnies under the bed, hair in the shower, spots on the shower door and dirty tiles in the shower. The channels on the back of the bathroom door had layers of dust in them. The bed sagged in the middle and was uncomfortable for the 2 of us to sleep in. Night and morning views from the wonderful porch were a plus.
The home was cute and located in the backyard of a private residential. There is no laundry available, which was advertised and something we were counting on for our stay. We had issues locking the door, too. The host was unresponsive the entirety of our trip. We figured out how to lock the door on the second day: Rotate the handle up, then turn the key, pull the key out with the handle turned up.
We loved the neighborhood and overall aesthetics of the shipping container home. Similar to other reviews, the home seems to still be ironing out some details. The door didnât lock (owner provided instructions the next day - seems to be a common question so add instructions for guests?), WiFi doesnât work unless you sit on the edge of the front porch, and we came to find out the advertised washer/dryer is located at the larger house on the property. We enjoyed the stay - and worth a 5 star as soon as the few kinks are ironed out. Thank you for the beautiful setting!
The discription is totally deceiving. It is not at Turtle Bay.It is not a house, it is a shipping container conversion. This information was no where in the discription.Listing said washer and dryer on property. There wasn't a washer or dryer. Bare minimum amenities, no microwave, dishwasher, no dishtowels, dish clothes or hot pads. It had a small window aircondtioner in the bathroom. When we found out it wasn't at Turtle Bay a few days after booking we couldn't cancel. We were so disappointed that the listing was so deceptive.
Property its okay . Host was so helpful . Need wifi i walk outside to get network also need iron hot water was not work when i try to take a shower . Back of the house need wedding . But overall is a quiet neighbourhood
Loved this location! Had everything I needed, north shore location, near the beach with the mountain as the back drop. Felt at home and the host made sure my accommodations were met!
We stayed in Veronica and Mikeyâs spot for a couple nights and couldnât have enjoyed it more. The location is incredible and the storage container home is lovely. It worked perfectly for us!
Is rather new listing seems to have a few rather large growing pain issues. The structure was very cute and was mostly as described. There was no hot water and a very weak Wi-Fi that could only be detected in one part of the porch, so we could not work, use phones or watch any TV. Although I did contact the owner, it took her a few days to respond. The hot water was restored the night before checkout (we stayed 1wk) and they were ordering a new cable box. The listing noted washer dryer but none that we saw or were informed about. Cute place and will be nice once the knicks are ironed out.
Overall it was a good trip. We stayed only 2 days here. The container is nice, it seems pretty new. Itâs not very big but that should be expected. The biggest drawbacks is that it is in the back yard of the property owners. There are no curtains on the main windows so there is a lack of privacy. And the shower did not get hot. We took cold showers. The overall location is great, close to the north shore beaches.
We had a great time in this converted container home. The location was amazing just across the road from the beach in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and their son even showed us the walking path down to the beach. The container was brand new and everything was clean and worked well. We had a great stay!
