Not so great.
Not great. When we checked in they had given our room away to someone else. A cot was offered but we paid for 2 queen bed’s. Receptionist couldn’t get a hold of her manager so we had to wait to see if there even was an extra room. The girl even checked my license and gave me a paper with a man’s name on it to sign. We did end up getting a separate room no charge but it was quite a hassle. Also, nowhere did it say that you have to park on the street or in the hospital parking lot across the street so we were charged for parking out back.

Wonderful staff. Perfect location, can walk to all the best places. Great price. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful building. Inside needs some maintenance, noticeable wear and tear.
Location was great, but our room was in the basement with the only window looking at a fence 2 ft away. Also, the window did not even lock. For $200 a night I expected a much nicer room.
We booked several months ahead, but they gave us a crappy basement room (102) with a small ground level window looking directly at bottom of neighbor's fence, 5 feet away.
Bathroom vent not working. Smoke detector went off twice because of humidity. Staff said vent fan has never been hooked up. Paint bulging on bathroom ceiling because of humidity. Black mold growing in spots of bathroom ceiling. Told staff, but no action taken, to even clean away the mold after I told them it is toxic.
"Dust bunnies" floating around under the bed.
And finally, they tried to charge me for parking on check-out, even though I did not ever park on the property.
I definitely WOULD NOT stay here again!!
The staff were great! Very lowkey little inn. Very clean, and I appreciated that they cleaned and changed towels every day!
I didn't love that my room was right beside the front desk, so I hear when people go there, but thankfully most people were relatively quiet. Also, my room's window wasn't too far off from the ground and it backed into an driveway/alleyway so as a woman who was there alone I didn't love that too much (felt a bit unsafe).
Good place to go to for a decent price, but don't expect anything "luxurious."
I love this property because it’s an old fashioned Inn. Some of the carpet is worn and the tick chairs too, but it has that old world charm with old jazz in the background. The price is very reasonable. This is an older hotel so you won’t be paying a high price for a spiffy hotel but this old house has lots of charm. At breakfast, I see riders, professors, for the seniors discount I will definitely be returning to this gem.

Could replace the shower curtain and bar ,very rusty
It was a great location and very clean. Some of the furnishings were in need of repair, and the bed was OK, but a little soft. The breakfast was good and I enjoyed my stay. I would recommend, but it could be better with a little maintenance. (the headboard was missing som bolts and rattled when you turned over)
Other than some confusion and issues with the first night parking, everything was great. The issues on the parking were NOT the problem of the Inn, but of the City of Halifax running a marathon down the street for 2 days.
