We enjoyed our stay at the Kookaburra Cottage immensely. The biggest drawcard was probably the location, short walk to the town centre yet quiet and we still got to enjoy the wildlife experience with Kookaburras, kangaroos, and an echidna around the corner! The indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit was enjoyed by the family. The heating in the cottage was very adequate which made for a cosy and comfortable stay. Communication response from the host was prompt and helpful. It was our little home away from home for a few days and we all looked forward retreating to it after a full day exploring the beautiful Grampians. Would definitely come back again!
Good size for the 3 of us. Everything we needed. Cozy lounge with wood heater. Very responsive and helpful manager. Fabulous wildlife, private location. Would definitely stay again.
This house was more than i expected given the price compared to others in area. Perfect location only a short walk to main street and park. House offered books and some toys also which was fantastic and our daughter loved this.
Plenty of wild life cane to visit. I would definitely return
The cottage is perfectly located a short walk from the centre of Halls Gap. There was plenty of space for two adults and two teenage boys.
It was pretty cold the weekend we were there, only a couple of degrees overnight, and the cottage does get a little chilly. Once the wood burning stove has been going for a couple of hours though, the place is quite cosy, and there are electric heaters as well.
Good cooking facilities and a nice large kitchen and lounge were appreciated. Kangaroos in the garden were a hit with our international guest!
Overall, a lovely stay.
A lovely cottage full of character. Perfect location to Halls Gap only a 5 minute walk away. Large front yard with a fire pit, the cottage set back from the main road so it is very quiet. So many small details to help the stay more comfortable. Caters to family stays with lots of books and games for all ages. Heating was great with wood heater, inverter, and wall heaters.
Charming house !
Property was a lot bigger than what we thought !
Right in the heart of town , yet set back a little so nice and quiet . My 9 year old son loved the kids room , so cosy with lots of activities and books to keep him entertained while looking out the window watching deer and kangaroos! We lit the fire both nights , it was truly a magical experience for us both. An easy walk out to dinner each night coming back to our cosy fire.
Very handy to have a washing machine and dryer to use. A wonderful host who was happy to help us in any way she could ( she let us arrive a little earlier which was very generous ) oh ! And the main bedroom had the most comfy mattress , I am in the process of ordering myself the same mattress for home as I had the most incredible sleep đ
The cottage was lovely with lots of great activities & games, 2 living areas. Clean & comfortable - nice touches with eco friendly washes etc, beds were good. We also had kangaroos & birds as companions, even a kookaburra. Well located - thoroughly recommend.
Jennifer was such a great host. We werenât sure if we would make it because of the bush fires but she was so easy to communicate with and willing to refund us if we couldnât make it. Luckily we were still able to get there! Itâs such a beautiful little house so close to halls gap town centre. We were surrounded by lots of friendly wildlife every day. The place was so quiet and cosy with everything you could possibly need including some fun board games! I would love to stay here again. Thank you Jennifer!
Stayed with family for 4 nights. Cottage was in a great location. Very close to the town and close to the shops and brewery Lovely wildlife all around. Clean and tidy inside. Well stocked with everything you needed for your stay.
Good value for the money. Great communication from the owner.
Would defiantly stay again.
Thanks.....
Lovely property, brilliant location! Well set up an prepared for anyone! Basically everything you might need was there! Jennifer was easy to communicate with, would highly recommend staying there an we hope to return one day!
This is a house in the midst of nature where you wake up to kangaroos nibbling on grass and emus strolling outside the window.
The house is well equipped and close to trails and walking distance restaurants.
Thanks Jennifer for having us. We enjoyed our stay alot.
I really enjoyed my week stay here, cozy cottage with all the basics you need and it's the perfect place to have a relaxing time away. Every evening, kangaroos wander onto the property to graze. The property manager Jennifer was quick to respond to any questions I had and I will definitely be staying here again in the future!
Had a great little holiday with my family at the beautiful Kookaburra Cottage. A well maintained home in a fabulous location with everything you need. Short walk to shops and Jennifer was very helpful host and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Halls Gap.
