When I arrived at the hotel yesterday, the woman at the desk was very rude. She refused to take my health card (from Quebec) as ID, which Iâve used several times to check into hotels in Toronto with no problem. I didnât have any other ID on me. She didnât suggest any other solution and was very rude about it, talking to me as if I was an idiot and as if I was just causing a problem. My confirmation email said nothing about bringing ID, never mind a particular ID. Fortunately my mom was there and checked in for me, but it was pure luck that I wasnât alone. Had I been there alone I wouldâve been out of luck and probably wouldâve overpaid for a hotel the same day and missed my friendâs wedding ceremony. When I told her the next day that my confirmation email said nothing about ID, she took no accountability, and continued to talk to me like I was an idiot. Just really terrible, unprofessional service.
The room was really noisy all night traffic noise through the walls. The breakfast was really bad right down to the coffee.Large groups of people smoking and drinking in the parking lot. Will never stay there again.Would not recommend this comfort inn.
We stayed for two nights. The hotel staff was kind and responsive. The breakfast was basic and the only thing I found appetizing was the make your own waffle and juice. There was no elevator and our room was on the second floor. That was uncomfortable. I was nervous to go out alone because the surrounding neighborhood did not seem diverse and welcoming. However, I enjoyed staying in my room and utilizing the included wi-fi.
