The room was neat and clean, everything tidy. We werent expecting the kitchenette, so that was a surprise. It was just a quick evening and then moving on, and Andy was a delight to visit with and very helpful.

This little studio was so very clean and exceptionally quiet. It’s an easy 20 minute walk on a safe path into Matamata, or turn right and go visit the Firth Tower museum, which was a delightful find for $10. The bed was great and firm and comfortable. The studio had dish-ware and utensils handy, as well as a microwave and fridge for the snacks I bought in town. Great hot water and water pressure, and again, everything was so very clean. Also, if you open the back window you can hear horses in the pasture behind you sighing contentedly. A lovely choice in a lovely place!

Great spot just on the outskirts of Matamata, quiet and cute and comfortable. You could walk into town on a nice day, but we drove in since it was spring and rainy or overcast. Lovely spot, would stay again!

Tower Road Motel is a great property run by great people. Andy was very communicative and helpful about our reservation and check-in because we were arriving late. We will definitely stay again!

Very comfy

A bit further out of town than it looked on the map, but that turned out fine. Very nice host and very welcoming, even his cat was there to greet us! . A “comfy” place to stay in and best of all, quite spacious. The only thing is that the shower cubicle was very small so gave it a miss as we were returning home that day.

Weekend away.

I was in Matamata for a family celebration. I had stayed at Tower Rd Motel last year so I was pleased to be able to book there again. I felt very welcome and the staff are approachable and friendly. The motel is easy to locate, just out of Matamata, and I was able to walk to my venue - it was a lovely day with beautiful Autumn colours to admire. The motel room I had was clean, roomy and had everything I needed. The bed was comfy and I had a great sleep. My only 'gripe' - I like strong tea and I found the teabags to be quite weak. Not a biggy. I'd recommend and would stay again when in Matamata.

Communication with the staff before arriving was easy and clear. Everything felt super clean. It's not fancy but it has everything you need and was very clean. I'd stay there again.

This lovely place is conveniently placed for your time in Matamata. We took a Hobbiton tour, enjoyed a St. Patty's Guiness and coffees in town. Friendly manager ( thanks Andy) ensures you have essentials in your clean welcoming room. Love the windows for fresh air and blooming hydrangea in the yard. Retro vibes.
