The host communicated with me in a timely manner. We did have to reach out to the host multiple times to receive the property agreement but she did respond promptly with each attempt. I would have appreciated instructions for the day of check in prior to the day of check in to know what to expect as it wasn't outlined anywhere; keyless entry, pick up key at an office etc.The host did answer promptly when asked. I do believe that changes are needed to be made to make the property safe or in the very least, the host needs to advertise accurately and provide pictures of the property to include: the height and steep nature of the indoor steps (9 inches high and 1 with a split in the middle), the steep pathway into the cottage lined with tree roots, and the narrow depth of the steps not allowing for your foot to fit unless you turned your foot sideways. The 25 gravel steps leading from the road to the lake have 3 steps where the ground has washed away so that you must step appropriately onto 1/2 of the step in order to avoid the 6 inch drop to the ground below. I have lived in this area and understand the nature of the landscape around the lake. I have stayed in upwards of 10 cottages on this lake and I understand that steps are par for the course here. However, there is a difference between safe and unsafe steps and knowing what to expect. I would not have chosen this property had I been aware of the difficulty to enter the cottage and to access the lake.
