Even though the hotel knew that a planned very noisy renovation was in progress our room was booked without any mention whatsoever of this. Our few days were totally ruined and having the staff just say sorry and not really do anything about it was eventually infuriating. Another complaint is that we had paid extra for a "garden view" but found we were on the wrong side of the hotel and were in fact next to a huge and active building site. The drilling and hammering in the hotel was nothing to do with this. An added extra though! On arrival in our room we were annoyed to hear loud drilling and hammering. There was no possibility of relaxing or sleeping. We immediately asked to move and were promptly moved to another room which seemed quiet, but we later realized that was because the works had finished for the day. I made the point that this hotel was chosen in the hope that it would be a quiet place for my husband to relax and sleep during the day as he had been travelling for four days. Long flights with attendant checking in, baggage etc etc. Across time zones from GMT -4 to GMT +7 with only a few hours break. Obviously exhausting. The next morning we were woken with loud drilling and banging which persisted during the day, no chance of sleep so we went out. Having only booked in for two complete days of peace it was very awkward to find another hotel with basically no notice.

Fabulous hotel with amazing staff and facilities. Although this hotel is about 2km from the old quarter don’t let this put you off! Download the grab app and use taxis. We moved here after a very bad experience with a hotel in the old quarter and we are so pleased we did. From the size of the room to the amazing staff ( and breakfast Choices) you won’t be disappointed staying here. By Westlake, there are wonderful restaurants, views and beauty spas walking distance from the hotel. Particular praise to the reception staff and Truc Quynh in the restaurant who made us feel like VIPS.

We used the gym and the pool and ate at the breakfast buffet. Our three bedroom apartment was on the 8th floor, overlooking the beautiful full size pool and landscaping, with views of the lake in the distance. We made a pot of tea and sat on the balcony most mornings. It was just lovely. The dining table was full size with seating for six. We had plenty of room to play board games. There is a TV in the living room, but not in the bedrooms. The location is great, although there is massive construction going on across the street. We did not hear any construction noise in the apartment.
