We absolutely loved out stay at the Splendid Premium. The staff was exceptionally caring, friendly helpful - everybody at the Splendid went above and beyond. I cannot stress that enough, they made us feel very welcome. Really everybody - across front desk, bell desk, breakfast, rooftop bar, spa, and so on. The location is excellent - it's right in the Old Quarter (which we later learned is the most expensive real estate in all of Vietnam - yet the hotel price was reasonable); lots of activities in walking distance, or a short ride from there. Breakfast selection was great, with some daily variations. We went to the Spa a few times, they knew what they're doing. Slight knock down (4 vs 5 stars) on 'condition and facilities'... it was fine, however if you expect a western hotel standard you may be a bit disappointed (room was rather dark with lack of view, and pool was cold); however, as noted before, this place is in Hanoi's Old Quarter, so that needs to be taken into context. Allover excellent stay, and we would go there again.

Great location for old town and French quarter, about half mile to most attractions. Clean well kept hotel, comfortable spacious rooms and a restaurant with local and western foods. Staff was top notch and very attentive to our needs. Cindy and Happy from reception were fantastic and really helped to make our visit to Hanoi top notch.

The staff at the hotel is what’s earned it the rating. Always available , attentive and very helpful. The hotel is located in the old quarter so it is not as spacious or luxurious as other 5 star hotels might be in the French quarter or elsewhere in the city, but those are far more expensive. The rooms are not very large but the beds are very comfortable and the water pressure is excellent. The breakfast was included and had a wide variety of items in a buffet as well as some a la carte items. For the price this was a very good value.

If I could give 10 stars, I would — Cindy is a LEGEND. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels while traveling, but nothing — absolutely NOTHING — compares to the experience I had here thanks to Cindy. My top priorities when picking a hotel are: cleanliness/well maintained, quiet area but centrally located, and boutique or small-to-medium hotels a Splendid delivered this and more! The staff, Cindy and Happy, went above and beyond in the check in and check out process. The breakfast food was excellent - so much variety and all deliciously made. The rooftop views were absolutely incredible. I also really liked that it was walking distance from the central area but now IN IT; the location was perfect. The hotel is really well maintained and the room was very clean. I wish I would’ve spent all my time at this hotel (my poor planning is to blame). But if your priorities are like mine, I would HIGHLY recommend staying at Splendid. It was my favorite hotel stay!

We had a lovely first stay and were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a family room. The service from all the staff was excellent. It is a great place for families. The breakfast was very nice with a good variety, and with good views. The location is ideal for exploring. They are very helpful at the front desk, arranging us onward transfers including cars to Ninh Binh.
