Luxury in an excellent location

We stayed here for three nights in two stays with our Halong Bay cruise in between them. We wanted to travel light and take just backpacks. Hotel had no issue in keeping our suitcases safely locked away for us. From the moment you arrive to the time you depart, you can expect top class service with lots of friendly smiles. One of the front desk managers , Sophie (I guess this as she wore a smart business suit compared to the others who were in traditional Ao Dai outfits), went out of her way to make sure we got our Halong Bay tour bus. As it was a bigger bus it couldn’t come down our tight street so she took the call from our guide and then personally escorted us with one of the doorman up to the corner where she had arranged for us to be picked up. The room was modern in a classic French style and everything worked perfectly. It was small but it was what we paid for and what you expect in a major city where land is precious. We actually got an upgrade to same room type but a better view on both occasions, one with lake views on the top floor. Very comfortable with a great walk in shower and top notch bed and bedding. Breakfast is on the twelfth floor with views of the city and Lake Hoan Kiem. Staff are very friendly & very attentive & switched on. The buffet itself is EXCELLENT! Egg station includes Eggs Benedict & also local noodle soup. The location is very convenient. Definitely no hesitation in recommending this hotel as a great base to explore Hanoi.

My partner and I had an wonderful experience at May De Ville Lakeside hotel. Its service was exceptional, particularly by Hannah. The rooms are spacious, the bed was so comfortable, and the room service menu was tasty and priced reasonably. The hotel's location is also convenient, central to all the attractions around the Old Quarter and close walk to the Ho Hoan Kiem lake as well as steps away to the weekend market. We throughly enjoyed our stay at May De Ville Hotel in Hanoi and we highly recommend!

Really friendly staff great customer service. Especially with young children the staff were amazing. The only slight disappointed the restaurant was not the best food for the money. A bit too much salt among other criticisms. But there are some great places just outside the hotel so don't let that put you off. The hotel is in a great location with lots of things to do and places to see.

The property is lovely & located in the heart of Old Town. Staff are extremely attentive & friendly. Great room (911) Variety of options at breakfast Lovely pool area. Beautiful hotel. Didn’t take too kindly to the noise from the large Indian group checking in while we checked out. Hotel reception apologised, although it wasn’t the hotels fault.

This place was the perfect location in "Old Town" Hanoi for us. You step right out into the heart of everything. We arrived by hotel transport from airport to accommodation. Everything ran smoothly from airport. Friendly, accommodating staff on arrival to hotel. We were given an upgrade to one of our rooms to an 'lake view' which was nice. The room we stayed in (President room) had a balcony with views on the city side, and to our surprise a "massage chair" - Wicked!! spacious room with large bathroom. Full kitchen facilities available in this room. Very clean and tidy. We had breakfast included in our booking. Large buffet style breakfast with a wide selection of breakfast foods. Hotel staff are friendly, accommodating and would stay here again due to the service we received. Would recommend to other family and friends. Thank you for the comfortable stay!

Great location and excellent service in a Vietnamese 5*. Some rooms smell musky as do all the other rooms in all other hotels (we stayed in many hotels all over Vietnam and Hanoi). The pool is an outdoor pool with a roof.

The hotel is well located. However the description of rooms with an internal windows are deeply misleading. The window is a small light well which means literally no light in a lower floor. Unlike other internal window rooms we’ve stayed in, the window does not look over internal space on the hotel. Very, very disappointing. We raised the issue and nothing was done until check out when the manager profusely apologies and refunded us some money. The pool is also freezing cold - there is no indoor pool (again misleading in description) as it’s just one indoor pool that can be covered with a temporary roof.

Perfect location to explore Hanoi. Breakfast selection was excellent, and great quality. The rooms were up to date, clean and always smelt so nice. All the staff were phenomenal, attentive and happy to give advice.
