As a family of 6 adults and 2 children we stayed here for just over a week in August 2025. We were attending a wedding at Chateau de la Couronne in Marthon. The house had everything we needed, the children loved the pool, we had several bbqs and also visited Brantome and St Estephe. The bakery and supermarket in Javelhac (10 mins drive) were more than sufficient for our everyday needs. We had 3 amazingly clear nights and were treated to the best skies Ive seen since visitng the outback in Australia - even 'STEVE' made an appearance. The only thing to note is that it is the 3rd bedroom (with double bed and bunks) that had the very low door, which makes it a bit awkward for adults, but we made it work.Overall we had a fab time and would love to return.
We enjoyed our visit to the farmhouse and had a very relaxing 2 weeks with family. The house is very remote, being 1.5km from Hautefaye. There are no shops, restaurants or cafes nearby. The house is spacious, but bedroom 4 is difficult to access for adults as has a tiny, low door. The 3rd double bed is in this, so not ideal. The house is very old, so very rustic in appearance and decor. The equipment was in need of updating, with fans and fire alarms not working. The garden and equipment was scruffy. The pool is small, but well maintained. The surroundings to the house include a row of small cottages, and the lane is full of cats and sometimes dogs. Cockerels and goats are also present. The children enjoyed this. The neighbours were friendly. Overall, we very much enjoyed the peace and quiet. The house and garden could definitely do with some improvements, but the owner responded well to comments and was helpful
