We had a lovely time at Honey Bear Hideaway, the location is excellent for tourists. We enjoyed the home immensely was nice, big, and best of all we were able to travel with our Huskies. This was just what we needed for a relaxing vacation.
Enjoyed the area but not impressed with the place we stayed at. Overgrowth prevented us from enjoying the area. The whole outside area was uninviting especially the seating that needed a good Clorox cleaning LOTS of cobwebs! Beds were propped up with books! We have been vacationing in this area for over 30 years now and have definitely been to better places.
Coming from the north, Helen was green and beautiful in April. The house was perfect with two living areas, a downstairs bar with game room and 4 beds and baths. we cooked in a lot and the kitchen had everything we needed. Plus, Helen is such a great town to visit before it gets crowded int he summer.
This cabin was great for our short stay in Helen. We were traveling with small kids so I wouldnât say it was quite in walking distance to the downtown area, but definitely a super short drive. The beds are all really really comfortable!!
We are a group of guys that have been camping together for over 20 years. We know each otherâs family and spouses know it is a time for the guys to get away. That being said, we have started renting cabins the last 5 years as none of us are getting younger. This cabin is hands-down the best location we have found. It is really pretty and had enough room for all of us. It is also extremely close to Helen, in case you forgot something. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to rent a beautiful place in Helen, Georgia.
Awesome place to stay, loved the bar downstairs. Plenty of room for a big family if needed. Very close drive to downtown Helen. Slightly out of walking distance for myself. Overall great experience.
We enjoyed our stay at Honey Bear Hideaway! It was a great location, just outside of the busyness of Helen. We could see/hear people on the alpine coaster and was fun for the kids to see the house when going on it. The house was perfect for our families, enough room to spread out and plenty of space to enjoy each others company.
We came to Helen to attend Oktoberfest. The cabin was a great location as it was very close to town. It was super clean, was very well stocked, and we loved all the room to spread out. We loved the setting, being nestled back in the woods. Even though there were other cabins in the area, it felt very private. Before we arrived I had messaged the owner, Brigette, a couple of times and she always responded very quickly with answers to my questions. Would definitely stay here again!
Cabin was as advertised! Did a guys weekend with some friends and we all enjoyed it. Friends were blown away by the cabin and the area. Will definitely rent again if we make it a couples weekend!
We enjoyed our long weekend with family visiting Helen, GA. The cabin was great, it had plenty of room for our family of 8, everyone had some space. It was also close to the activities and stores in Helen. Communication with the host was easy and she kept us up to date on everything. We would definitely stay here again.
There was not any issues with the cabin. The owner was great. However, we were told the cabin is motorcycle friendly, it is not. We were told parking would accommodate a truck and trailer, it will but there is a lot of maneuvering. Great place for 1-2 cars. Definitely not motorcycle friendly.
Our week here was wonderful, itâs got a large driveway that fit all our cars and a lovely backyard to hang out in. The patio on the lower level was beautiful along with the sunroom above, both have great views. The house was super clean, spacious and the bar was a lovely touch! We hope to stay here again next year for volks fair!
Very clean home, roomy, nice outdoor area. I wouldn't say it is walkable to downtown Helen. It is straight up hill going back. We had a great time but had to drive to downtown.
