My wife and I just returned from a few days at this property. We booked a couple different places to stay around the Asheville region. In retrospect, we wish we would have had more time here.
The house is a legitimate gem. The layout is certainly unique, (not a bad thing) but you'll barely notice because you will spend the whole time looking out at the amazing views.
As other reviewers have said, this house is wonderfully remote. So, stock up before you come up the mountain. Also, if you are visiting other parts of Asheville, do that before you come to this house. Because, if you do it the other way around, you'll ruin the zen you get here.
When you are buying groceries, keep in mind that there are plenty of pots and pans, but essentially no staples in the house. So, if you are doing any cooking, you'll need to bring everything like sugar, oil, seasonings and anything else you might need.
We hope to return to this property for many years to come.
