The place was spotless and ready to go. Neighbors are close, but everyone was respectful and quiet. The Wi-Fi was unable to access, and the instructions on how to access it are very unclear.
Adequate home. Small but ok for my needs. Did not like that bathroom is on first floor and bedroom upstairs. Air conditioning was difficult to operate. I would use it again fir a single person
Got there Wednesday. Nice little place. Thursday spent the day fishing on the lake. Got back Thursday night made Chicken on the grill. Slept in Friday and left around 1030. Really liked the place. Would definitely go back. Thank you.
Great little cabin for me and my girlfriend to get away for the weekend. It was great having a grill on the deck to use. Great proximity to Snyder's run to go kayaking. Also really enjoyed the tranquility of the cabin location and spent the evening reading. 10/10 would come back.
Check in process was simple and easy. I stayed for the weekend and I enjoyed it very much! It is a very nice place to get away from the city. Close to Raystown lake and good fishing. Will return in the future! Thanks Aunt Susieâs!
We did really enjoy our stay! We were surprised by three things:
1) Pleasant surprise that some of the things noted as not being available, actually were such as coffee filters and chairs around the fire pit. Unfortunately, it was too rainy and wet to use them.
2) We didnât realize just how close this was to the locations that we planned to go to. Itâs a perfect location!
3) Weâve never before actually been charged for the security deposit. Usually, thereâs just a hold put on your account. Unfortunately, we still have not received it back and we left the place as clean or cleaner than when we arrived. Hopefully, we will see the deposit returned with the taxes that were also charged on the deposit. I have to submit this survey before the 7 to 10 business days is reached.
property was very clean and welcoming. We liked the art and photos and the flowers and the overall feel of the cottage. The heat was efficient and uniform. It is likely we will be back for future anniversaries or some other occasions. The area has a lot to see and experience even with the uncertain weather in mid-october.
We were looking for a weekend escape near Raystown Lake for just my husband and I. Knowing that the weather would not be great, we wanted somewhere comfortable to be inside and we were concerned about being warm this time of year. The cottage was in the small quiet neighborhood of Hesston. Due to the slanted floors in the living room, it made it difficult to find a comfortable place to sit. The kitchen was fully equipped to meet all our needs. The conditioned well water made the showers soft, but it had an unpleasant sulfur taste. The heating system was a little difficult to figure out, but we stayed nice and cozy. With proper expectations, we would recommend no more than 2 or 3 to stay here for a quiet weekend getaway.
The cottage is very small and probably best suited for one person. The size would not have been a problem if we were there just to sleep.
When we arrived we found that we had to make our own beds (linens were provided). First time weâve encountered that.
The bathroom was hard to find (hidden behind the refrigerator) and lacked hand towels. Wash cloths were not provided and we had to buy some in Huntingdon. We had to wash each dish before we used them because the were not clean. The couch also was quite soiled so we used a sheet to cover it up.
We did appreciate the ease of checking in, the clothesline outside and the fire pit. Overall though we were disappointed.
Only complaint is that the bedroom is not air conditioned directly as the other rooms in the house are. It relies on cool air to make its way through a door from the air conditioned hallway/ stairs. On a moderately warm day, temp in the low 80âs, it was stuffy and too warm in the bedroom to sleep comfortably. Otherwise, the house was clean and well kept, and the location was quiet and convenient.
