Great but living room was to hot didnât have AC and it was advertised as having a washer and dryer but there where sign up all over that the w&d was for business only. Communication was concerning. Websight tell you one thing but then the manager tells you something else like where the keys are.
Very comfortable, simple and spacious lodging, window a/c units in both bedrooms. Good if you have a car - between downtown and airport. Target/Safeway/Walmart nearby. Host is attentive and quick to reply.
House is lovely, the location is nice. We weren't expecting a very poor response from the host after the stay, upset that we had moved some breakable items up out of the way of children, or that we didn't clean the stovetop after use. We used things that were put there to use, wiped, swept and cleaned after ourselves a we would in any house, but there was obviously miscommunication about it that left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. I would not want to stay with this host again if I had the choice
Great location within Hilo. Neighborhood was quiet. King size bed was nice to have in a VRBO. Definitely met my familyâs needs. Would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bed was comfortable, and it was great to have some room to spread out, especially since it rained the entire time. The property manager was great and left us some fruit for our stay. Off street parking was very convenient. Itâs in easy walking distance to Ola Brewery, which I highly recommend. Thank you for hospitality!
Rental was much more spacious and welcoming than what I expected. The pictures don't do it justice. Clean. The owner was very accomodative and friendly which we greatly appreciated. Neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and was a perfect location; close to everything! Definitely would stay here again.
This was a great place to stay in Hilo. The location made it easy to access all the local sites and scenery. Check-in was super easy and Diana accommodated our early arrival graciously. AC in the bedrooms was essential as it can get quite hot and humid in Hilo. Would recommend this place to those looking for a central location to the Hilo/Puna area.
Nice neighborhood and close to many locations like downtown market, Big Island Cookie factory and Boiling Pots waterfall and pools. The house was well appointed with everything we needed in the kitchen, clean bathroom and comfortable beds%
Nice upstairs home. Wasnt to happy about 2nd bedrooms bed.on a plywood instead of box spring a little noisy and felt unsteady.but it was ok..
(Make sure if you rent a car someone is their when you test it. So no blame comes to you without a clue..)
But overall I would rent again..Very clean, comfortable, neighborhood is quite...
Diana is an amazing host! She did everything to accommodate us for our very last min booking at her place. However, circumstances didn't line up and we weren't able to stay after all, unfortunately. Diana refunded us right away, and she even took care of our trip insurance to be reimbursed. She was on top of all cancellation steps and guided us through. We appreciate her very much as a host, especially for her time invested in us. We hope to come and stay at her place in Hilo next time!
This is a great place for a family or small group on a budget who want a home base from which to explore Hilo or the Big Island in general. It's the entire upper story of a house in a close-in Hilo neighborhood. Could sleep six in a pinch with a third large bed off to the side of the large great room. The place was very clean and fairly well equipped. Bathroom and kitchen are recently upgraded. No dishwasher. Solid wi-fi. Laundry is shared and $5 per load on the honor system. I felt safe and secure in the unit, and there was a great off-street parking spot that also felt secure. The back yard is available to share, but it's not that great. There was some noise from traffic, planes and neighbors. Also, you can't really walk to the water or the best restaurants from the unit. But stores, a great Hawaiian deli, an ATM and a fine beer house are a short walk away, and everything in Hilo is just a very short drive away. A good place to stay if one of your main goal is Volcano NP.
The unit was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Parking was off street and easy. A good central location in Hilo town close to the historic downtown area, but out enough to be nice and quiet. The owners were accommodating and very nice.
First of all this isn't a vacation rental, unless you are into thrift store furnishings, gross towels and poor kitchen utensils. There are slip covers over all of the living room furniture hiding worn out pleather couch and chair. There is a sheet of plastic over a 1970's era table ( that should have gone to the dump)and table cloth that doesn't even fit. One of the beds had a disgusting mattress cover and the other bed had no box springs and was just sitting on a piece of plywood and the head and foot board were missing pieces of wood. The place was a huge let down for our 25th wedding anniversary and we hope no one else gets stung by this property owner.
Go else where, so your vacation dodesn't get ruined.!!
We stayed here for nearly two weeks and it was a perfect temporary home for our family! The house is equipped with many amenities - enough beds and bedding for all of us, kitchen is well stocked to cook full meals (coffee machine, rice cooker, many pots/pans, some spices), plenty of towels and sheets for everyone, and did I mention how CLEAN this house is? It is very CLEAN!!! No bugs, no dust, it was spotless :-) Owner was easy to get ahold of and quick to respond with inquiries. So glad we were able to stay at this house! Thank you again for having us and sharing your home!
