Property had roaches. They were quick to communicate, with no action. Informed Wednesday first thing in the morning. Once we saw roaches crawling above where our children slept, it was a no go. Vacated two days early to get a last minute hotel on Thursday evening, still no action by them. They claimed they didnât have enough time, but had more than 24 hours. They refuse any compensation at all. Would avoid Grand Welcome properties.
Unfortunately the unit had roaches. Property management was not responsive in a timely manner. When they did reach back out, they were unprofessional. We ended up having to find other accommodations for our stay and was denied my request for a refund. Will not stay at any of Grand Welcome Hilton Heads properties ever again.
The place didnât seem well maintained. After loading the dishwasher and trying to run it, I let the manager know that it wasnât working. The response was. Oh donât use it. Itâs being replaced the end of the week. I would have liked to have know that before because I wasnât wanting to wash dishes on my vacation. Bedroom wall light switch didnât work so I had to stand on the bed to get the light on and off. The toilet bowl seat wasnât bolted down. No hot pads or pot holders which I didnât know until I needed to pull a hot pan from the oven. Only one dish towel and one dish rag.
We have stayed several times at The Spa on Port Royal and this time was just as enjoyable as all of the others. Easy check-in. Short walk to the beach. Lots to do on resort as well; 3 pools, hot tub, tennis courts, cornhole, and shuffleboard.
