Glorious place to stay, but Florence disrupted our stay.

Overall you will be thrilled with location on the beach. Place is laid out nicely, decorated well. Plenty of games and books to chose from! Kitchen counters, sink updated, plenty of cabinet space. Beds in masters were not comfortable, so I slept on my yoga mat. Cleaning company and linens were just ok. But I would have been so happy if Hurricane Florence had not disrupted our stay. First 2.5 days weather was gorgeous. then we had to evacuate.

Lovely, updated vacation home.

Tournesol is a beautiful short walk to the ocean in a great location, fairly near shopping and the swing bridge. We found wonderful seafood "to cook in" at Thomas's, just across the bridge, great shelling on the beach. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed. The only negative was not having an inside entrance to the basement where the laundry was located. All in all, one of our best beach stays of 30 plus years of experience at North Carolina beaches.

Awesome Oceanfront Rental!

When you walk in through the front door, you can immediately see the ocean. The property has been renovated and everything looks wonderful! The deck walks right out to the ocean and the beach here isn't crowded at all. The beds were comfy. We didn't use the bunk bed room as our 6 year old decided to sleep in one of the rooms that faced the ocean. Both the master bedroom and the second largest rooms have Queen-size beds and sliding glass doors that go out to the deck. The doors have curtains but beware the sun rises early on the ocean side so we were up by 6:30 every morning. The front faces the sound and has gorgeous views of the sunset! The house came with plenty of amenities along with linens, bath towels and kitchen towels. The Keurig coffee maker broke on us mid-week. There are other coffee makers in the house. We called Topsail Reality and they were letting the owners know. Really wasn't a big deal to us. Gave us an excuse to grab a cup of coffee and hand-dipped donut from Fractured Prune Dougnuts. Delicious! The sofas in the living room were really comfy and the tv was really nice. There are also televisions in the two larger bedrooms. There is a charcoal grill, which we used all week. Even for s'mores! There is a full-size washer/dryer in the garage. We left a laundry basket in the master bedroom to help future guests tote their clothes/towels down. There was plenty of beach umbrellas, chairs, beach toys and boogie boards. Our 6-year old learned to boogie board and loved it! In walking distance of the house is a nice playground, shops and restaurants. It's about a 25 minute walk. The Breezeway Restaurant was good. Had a great selection of seafood entrees that were reasonably priced and the hushpuppies were good too! We tried out The Bistro. It was awesome! One of the best dining experiences I've had. Food was amazing! Only con, if I had to give one, is that it would have been nice to have a King size bed in the master bedroom. The house is amazing and so is Topsail! You won't regret renting this fabulous house! We'll definitely return!
