Stay was wonderful and peaceful with a fabulous view. My only complaint was the property was advertised as a romantic getaway, and there were kiddos there for the weekend. The people staying above us were a little loud walking across the floor until after midnight each night which interfered with my sleep the first night, but the second night I finally just had to put earplugs in and it helped.
I would absolutely stay at this place again. The condo was just as described inside but the views from the deck you could not begin to described. They were stunning! The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was very comfortable and it was very clean. We only booked two night but we could have stayed there a couple of nights. There was an amazing view of the "Spit". This condo will not disappoint!
I had some issues communicating with this location. Itâs an outside/onsite management which made it a tad difficult. So be prepared to stay organized if youâre traveling through here while juggling other locations. They were not ready for us when we arrived 15 mins after check in - they were still cleaning but wrapped up quickly. The space was simple and small and there are several other people on property. Kitchen was not well stocked at all. The beautiful garden grounds and the shared deck views are why you stay here. Hands down! We spent a majority of our time while onsite on the shared deck space overlooking the mountains and water.
My husband and I stayed in The Penthouse suite and the views from the large private deck are incredible! It was a joy to relax while gazing over Kachemak Bay and listening to the song birds and the âresidentâ eagleâs shrill cry.
There are 2 common area decks that also offer wonderful views and nice sitting/gathering areas. We really enjoyed being able to grill on the patio and cook meals in the room. The hot tub was fantastic and the grounds are very charming and well kept.
As local Alaskanâs in Homer for business, staying at The Lighthouse was like being on a grand vacation.
Iâm already recommending to family and friends and we will definitely be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay -- we had an end unit facing the bay. It was spacious with a full kitchen and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The heated floors in the bathroom were a welcomed treat! And the washer & dryer were a nice feature as this was the second half of our trip after a week on a cruise ship.
Liz was a fabulous host. She even left us a welcome bottle of bubbly to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday! Her recommendations for restaurants and a local art gallery were spot on and much appreciated.
The Lighthouse is perfectly located just off the top of the Spit. So you can either turn left to go onto the Spit and everything it has to offer, or hang a right and go into downtown Homer to enjoy its galleries and restaurants.
Don't miss AJ's Steakhouse in the old downtown section or the Broken Oar on the spit -- our favorites!! And if you're into fishing Captain Travis Blount with Blount Adventures is your man!
This property is better than the pictures show. It is quite well appointed and includes heated, bathroom, floors, and laundry equipment. It is conveniently located, and a wonderful accommodation. Liz greeted us with fresh croissants and homemade butter. What could be better
