This was the most beautiful VRBO! The views were spectacular. The small touches were wonderful. It was quiet and peaceful, everything we were looking for. We already talked about wanting to come back.
We loved our time at this VRBO. Whenever I had a question, Rachel was extremely prompt in replying. The one thing I can't stress enough is how beautiful the view is from the front window (which faces the back). The fireweed is blooming and the contrast with the trees looking all the way down and out - simply breathtaking. We saw the volcano our first night, when it was clear. Amazing. When the clouds rolled in, it was still lovely. We loved Homer and enjoyed the hike across the bay at the state park. We were so glad we stayed at this place (impeccably clean, great kitchen amenities - and did I mention the view??) instead of in town or on the Spit. It gave a completely different perspective and being higher up was just beautiful. Washing dishes was a little challenging, but the dry cabin experience was just fine. Great spot!
Wonderful property in nice very quiet and private location. Very well equipped, felt almost as if it was our own summerhouse.Owner lives nearby and is very responsive if you have a need or concern. View from the house is absolutely stunning. We were there on some cloudier and rainier days. Nonetheless, the fascinating view kept changing and surprising us!
A Perfect Family Retreat â Canât Wait to Come Back!
The Adventure Chalet is pure magic. This was our second time staying here, and weâre already planning our third. Rachel and Jason have created a true refuge that feels like it was designed with familiesâand especially kidsâin mind. From the thoughtful decor to the well-stocked amenities, every detail is warm, welcoming, and fun. And that viewâabsolutely breathtaking. Itâs just as gorgeous as the photos, if not more.Even the outhouse is charming (I actually wish Iâd taken a photo of the interiorâitâs that cute!).Weâre so grateful to Rachel and Jason for sharing this special place. Itâs beautiful inside and out, and we feel incredibly lucky to return to it again and again.Highly recommend to anyone looking for a family-friendly, soul-filling Homer getaway.
Very responsive down to earth owners. The property was very clean and accurate to the description. If you want someplace with a hot shower don't rent here although there's options in town. Fantastic value for the money clean nice house plenty of space awesome porch.
Highly recommend! The views from the front porch are stunning and the cabin is spotless. The hosts are great and very responsive. We canât wait to return.
Very clean cabin with the two queen beds being comfortable. It's a ways from town but accessible. The road there is pretty bumpy, normal Alaskan life. Gorgeous views. The kids enjoyed the outhouse experience after all.
Picked a cold and windy hockey tournament weekend. But the view was fantastic! Stars were out just like on top of a Hawaiian volcano, only better. And colder. Great communication with host, Homer is a fun town with great food. Next time weâre back, staying at Volcano Vista again.
If you want to "fly like an eagle", this rustic-chic cabin is the place for you. From the comfort of the back porch, we were able to see magpies, a young eagle and even a young bull moose. Watching him graze for almost an hour made time stand still and made us feel closer to nature.
We were slightly apprehensive about staying in a dry cabin. As the outhouse was just steps away, it was no problem even for city slickers like us. Having to "rough it" a little only added to the charm of our visit.
The newly built cabin is a twenty minute drive up and inland from Homer proper. It is very clear with many beautiful decorative touches. The kitchen is well stocked with the essentials like hot cocoa and popcorn and there is an outstanding selection of books about the area to feed the mind. The hosts seemed to have thought of everything a guest might need including eye masks although they weren't really needed.
This property is the perfect Alaskan getaway!
If you are looking for a quite place to stay, this is you one. The kitchen was well stocked and they provided plenty of water. The views were amazing but you can't see the spit from the house. During the 30 min drive from the spit is some of the most beautiful views we had so far. Oh and one last thing, if your wife is not tracking what a dry cabin means, please inform them.
Just driving there I knew that this place was going to be a good stay, the hills were covered with wild flowers trees and we even saw a bull moose from the property. Very charming place to stay with your love one or friends. Just minutes from the homer spit. We enjoyed grilling our catch from our fishing charter trip and had our dinner outside next to the fire pit outside with a beautiful view. Canât wait to come back next time. Thanks so much.
We only stayed one night but will put this little cabin on the short list for future trips to Homer. It is in a beautiful setting, roughly 20 minutes from town, and has the most amazing views of rolling hills, fireweed fields and spruce forests. The wood burning stove is awesome, and the whole place is just so cozy.
