Location was great and beach view was amazing. We saw a sea turtle on the beach right outside the unit on our last night there. While there was no air, the unit was comfortable at night with the fans going and windows open. Downside is the unit is right next to the parking lot, and it can get noisy. There was also a lot of rain the week before we were there, resulting in gnats all over. They were everywhere when we got there, and no matter how much we cleaned the counters, they returned every day. They were also all over the floor, and we didn’t see a broom in the unit to sweep them up. After the first couple of days, the complex put up a sign to let all guests know what they were, that the influx was due to the very wet conditions, and they were not dangerous. Recommend leaving cleaning supplies open to guests if they need them, as it would have been nice to sweep up all the gnats each day instead of letting them accumulate.

When we arrived the pool was closed for a day or so. Response from company was fast and accurate. Good follow up. The upstairs doesn’t have a door so if someone got up earlier than the loft people they were disturbed . The upstairs was hot. We had a great time and loved the place except for a few annoyances . Lots of fans,good amenities nice little beach. View was nice for morning coffee and we watched turtles from the balcony. Had a great time. Great location

The condo is a great location with an amazing view of the water. We were the only ones at the pool and could snorkel just steps from the condo! Having the pool and beach just steps from you was amazing! I love the feel of the condo with all the louvred glass windows, loft and plank ceiling. When we first arrived, the windows were shut tight, the fans were off, so we walked into an inferno but opening all the windows and turning on the fans made it pretty comfortable all night. The master bedroom does sit near the parking lot and with the windows needing to be open to stay cool it was loud with street noise and occasional people talking. I would say that the condo was moderately clean - the floors were dirty, there were crumbs left on the counter, and the one of the fans spit chunks of dust out when it was turned on. The drawers in the kitchen and bathroom all fall off the tracks and the ice maker was broken. The master bed needs to be replaced as it curves in the center so were sleeping on the edges. Overall, we had a good stay but feel like there are a few things that could be addressed to make it a perfect stay!

Very comfortable, except the no A/C. Very clean complex - and friendly. Quick response to any calls. Noise level at night was a bit high, but adjusted quickly. Laundry nicely accessible. Crashing waves covered most of it. :)Loved the "local" turtles. Snorkeling on the beach was great. Lots of sweet fish as well. Although we didn't use the grill, it was wonderfully clean. Would have appreciated knowing this condo started on the second floor as photo led us to believe it was a ground floor unit. Plenty of local eateries available too.

Wonderful spot perfect for families.

Overall excellent place. Right on the ocean. We enjoyed doing Yoga in the morning and see the sea turtles come up and tumble in the waves. Close to many near beaches and places. It really was a wonderful get away for us. The fridge was a bit dirty when we arrived. There was also a dead roach in the bathroom upstairs. I guess you get that in tropical areas. I would definitely go here again.

Great little Beach condo

We could watch the kids in the pool, and the little Beach next door was perfect for early morning and late afternoon swims before or after our adventures. The condo did not have A/C and was very loud at night with the water so close to the house, and there are no window fixtures so the sun comes in early. We loved the condo and would come back.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay very much. You can hear the ocean and jump into a nearby beach where we have seen colorful fish, turtles and even a manta rey! We had some issues with the door lock; the case was handled very professionally and friendly and the lock was exchanged immediately.

Great condo, great location!

This condo is right on the ocean and tucked into a great walkable neighborhood (coffee across the street, ABC store, grocery). If you don't like falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean this condo probably isn't for you or at least bring some ear plugs. The condo itself is nicely laid out and well appointed. No AC but there are fans and the ocean breeze.

Amazing ocean front vacation

We loved our stay at the Hale Kai. The unit is as described and accurately represented in the photos. We loved the location and direct access to the pool and beach. It was also well stocked with beach gear and all the essentials. We had several turtle sightings and even had one come up on the beach. Thanks for a great trip!

A wonderful experience

Our first trip to Maui, many to HI / other islands. We loved the island, the location of this condo and the entire experience. We will be back! The condo was clean, quiet and beds, kitchen, balcony - everything was comfortable. We cooked great meals, slept well and enjoyed the morning view. We loved everything about our stay and the location.

The best spot

Our family of 5 stayed here comfortably. The unit is spacious and we never felt on top of one another. Plenty of necessities to get you by for the first few days, including all of the beach chairs and umbrellas. Walking distance to so many good places to get coffee and eat great food. Great views, clean and quiet. The property is VERY well cared for. Having the pool was also nice when we were tired of being in the ocean. Pictures are accurate besides the bunk beds, they are now separate twin beds. The ONLY downside is how hot it gets (not the owner's fault). The condo would definitely benefit from an a/c unit. We will be back again and will not hesitate to book this condo!

Right on the water. Wake up and go to sleep to the waves. Whales and turtles out the window. Felt like a local and close to everything. A perfect place for a family get together. Sad to leave.

Maui Beach Vacation

The unit is well-located with a lovely view, a pool, and a small adjacent beach (usable more a low tide). It is a typical Hawaiian beach house, with jalousie windows that are a bit old-fashioned. There is no air conditioning, making the loft bedroom a bit warm during the day but the unit cools off nicely at night with lots of fans and ocean breezes. There are no curtains on most windows making it somewhat light at night and not totally private. The lighting is a little sparse, especially over the dining room area. The pool is quite cold. The management was very responsive and well-organized. The unit has a satisfactory kitchen, and parking was never a problem. Overall, it was a very good stay for our family of six.

Great Family Friendly Condo Steps Away from Ocean!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hale Kai during our recent week in Maui. You cannot beat the location of this condo, you are steps away from the water so you hear the waves 24/7, the sunsets are incredible to view each night from your lanai, and there is a small beach area right off the property, or a larger beach/park right next to the property. It was amazing to not have to drive to get a great beach spot! It was a very quiet property too when we stayed, pool was never crowded and noise was never an issue. As is common in Maui, there is no AC in the unit, and it gets HOT. We have young kids who stayed in the bunk bed room (the pictures show a bunk bed but it’s actually 2 twins side by side), and it would be dangerously hot in that room during the day, over 90 degrees. We had to move them to our room for naps which was fine, but worth mentioning. There also is very little privacy in the bedrooms. The condo is mainly windows which is great for the views, but both the main bedrooms had large windows that weren’t frosted so people could see right in, you also rose with the sun since there were no curtains to block the light. The bedroom on the main level faces the parking lot and street, and the windows don’t fully close, so there is a bit of noise at night. The condo is spacious and very well equipped with everything you may need in the kitchen, as well as the beach. It wasn’t super clean when we got there which was a little disappointing, several dishes and utensils that were put away in the cabinets still had food on them, and the bathroom floors looked like they’d maybe missed being mopped. Overall it was a good spot for our family and we really enjoyed our stay. Mahalo!

Spectacular oceanside location, bright loft and friendly neighbours

This spectacular oceanfront loft exceeded our expectations. It's location allowed for easy access to everything we needed. The mgmt team was responsive to our requests, and we left with smiles on our faces.
