Good location. The lobby and first floor of the Ilikai are nice spaces. My only complaint is that the small mini-split AC unit is underpowered for this room. We were never able to get the room cool enough. We kept the shades closed but the heat from the windows overpowers this small AC unit. A fan in the room would have been helpful. (I even cleaned out the filters on the AC unit, they were very dirty, this helped, but we still felt warm all night). Also, we got unlucky in that a family was staying across the hall and their infant screamed (not crying, screaming) from 7am until 8pm. The walls and doors didnt block out the noise (we stacked pillows by the door in a lame attempt to dampen the noise). But that's just our bad luck, not the fault of the property, you cant control who is next to you. Note that the laundry machines did not work on this floor, we had to go to the 5th floor. We also learned to have Lyft/Uber rides pick us up in the back. The front drive to the Ilikai gets completely clogged with cars that are allowed to park there for 15 minutes. So you will get trapped there for 20 min waiting for the car in front of you to move. The valets havent learned how to keep a lane open for through traffic. So have your ride share pick you up at the back of the hotel or a block away.
