Second time we stayed and it’s comfortable and convenient and plenty of room. It’s ultra dog friendly which is ideal too. It’s let down by the cleanliness which was also apparent on our last visit. The restaurant skirtings are not clean the edges are dusty , the room are also the same the main part of the room is hoovered and cleaned but edges and under items are not . The bathroom corners and edges were very dirty and so was the room. We made the staff aware in the first day our fridge was not working and the free milk was not cold, but this was not addressed. We followed this up on the second day but still it was not fix only to be told most of the fridge’s in the hotels don’t work!. If you offer a fridge with items inside then you should make sure they work or are fixed.

Liked: Cleanliness
Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and dog friendly. However, road noise is a problem and the food is pretty poor (including breakfast).
Excellent Base for walking and cycling straight from hotel with lock up for bikes, good food, lovely lounge with free tea/coffee and afternoon cake. Great
Excellent facilities, clean and modern room. The rooms were very warm, even with a fan. I think a thinner duvet for the summer would be a good call. Food in the restaurant was very good however the services was quite poor. Granted it was a busy Saturday night but the services for drinks and ordering food was very slow and we felt forgotten about. We didn’t get asked if we would like to see the dessert menu and if we hadn’t had asked for the bill we would have been waiting all night.
All in all I would recommended the hotel - super facilities and location but service staff need either more training, more staff on or bettered managed.

Definitely not worth the price tag
Lovely staff. Space limited in the room despite me sending a message ahead, requesting space around beds as we have a wheelchair user in our family. Far too warm in the room so had to leave the window open, then had noise from people leaving the bar late at night in the car park. Bed too soft & pillows lumpy. Food at the evening meal & breakfast all fantastic. Cleanliness really not up to scratch, particularly around the self service breakfast areas.
Love the stay, very dog friendly, very clean and very quiet one down side is wished could be more variety on the breakfast buffet other than that I do recommend Bike and Boot to all the dogs owners that looking for somewhere to stay with their dogs and still get a full hotel experience cuz this’s the place for it.
Good hotel and good facilities on site and a sound base for lots of walking in the area. Charged me again and more than the actually booking was on check in though. So had to arrange to get that refunded
Bike and Boot is a classy unpretensious hotel with great facilities and delightful staff. Easy access by train and bus and the centre of miles of great footpaths.
This is an excellent hotel for a short stay in the peaks. Extremely dog friendly, with a dog wash for muddy paws! Clean and modern, guest lounge and great bar/dinning area.
Nice hotel just next to a main road so not quiet with the window open and not much close by you can get to without needing to drive.
The restaurant is really good though
I booked here because I was doing a walking weekend, check-in was easy enough but all done on an iPad, the staff are available through the restaurant but no one actually there to greet you. Room was nice, comfy bed. My room was near the road so there was some road noise as well as loudly slamming doors.
My one gripe is the system for who had breakfast in their rate had broken somehow. After checking into breakfast, a staff member told me even though my reservation showed breakfast they would be charging me. I had to find another staff member to convince them not to charge me and they did agree in the end, but felt like an unnecessarily faff.
