I'm in the area quite a lot for work and normally stay in the big brands, however last night I chanced my luck with LGI. After a horror story nearby a couple of weeks ago I was slightly hesitant, but shouldn't have been! The new owners know that the fabric of the hotel is dated and make no effort to deny it, instead being up front that they have a list of work to do, and the price reflects this. The hotel, including my room, was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and they're making the best of what they have available until their upgrades. It might not be flashy, but everything works, it's warm, it's cosy, it's comfortable, it's safe, the shower was excellent, there's plenty of free parking, there's a garage directly opposite, there's real radiators to dry your wet clothes on, there's windows that open, there's thick curtains that actually cover the windows, there's bottled water in the room, and best of all, it's the best customer service I've experienced for a very long time. I'll definitely be staying here again and have already reccommended them to colleagues. Also, if you're travelling, it's a 5 minute drive from the airport and not under the flight path!
