Listed half-timbered house from 1602 in Behringen am Hainich, near Wartburg Castle Behringen is a village with 1600 inhabitants that was first mentioned in documents in the 9th century. With a renovated castle, an old village centre through which a small stream flows, a church and now many renovated houses, Behringen is now a lively little village in which new buildings have been constructed since 1990 and more are being built. There is a supermarket, a butcher's, a bakery, a bank and a pharmacy in the village. Behringen is located directly next to the Hanich National Park, and there is a tourist information centre for the Hainich in the village. Wartburg Castle, a World Heritage Site, is certainly the most famous sight in the immediate vicinity, while the town of Eisenach (with the Bach Museum, Luther House and the largest villa colony in Germany) is 10 kilometres away.
Your holiday home is a former village tavern from 1602. The listed half-timbered house was extensively renovated in all trades between 2009 and 2011 and today presents itself as a contemporary gem with two living rooms (one with a fireplace and play corner for the kids), an eat-in kitchen from 2018 with a large old dining table, four bedrooms (three of them with double beds, one with bunk beds), two bathrooms (one with a shower and one with a bathtub), adjoining rooms and a 200 m2 garden. The house is located directly in the old village centre of Behringen (near the castle and the church) and has a living space of 120 m2. In the 3rd quarter of 2021, all rooms were renovated and then refurnished. The old floorboards in the two living rooms and one bedroom were sanded down and resealed, the floor coverings in the other rooms were renewed and then the entire house was repainted.a small stream flows in front of the property, a bridge leads to the property! In the rooms on the upper floor, the ceiling height is lower than in new buildings, as is usual in these old houses.
A well-tended cottage garden of 200m2 invites you to relax. A sheltered seating area with barbecue facilities is located directly in front of the house.
There are two car parking spaces right next to the property!
Please contact Mrs Jacki Rödiger a few days before your arrival, she will tell you the code for the key safe, which is attached to the right door of the house. You will find the keys to your holiday home in the small safe!
