You’re in the middle of it all at the Residence. Great dining and shopping are right outside your door, and the attached pub is great too. Bring earplugs on a weekend!

Excellent location in heart of pub & touristy shopping district. Note that the hotel is located directly above popular pub M.Fitzgeralds - secure a room on the 4th floor unless you plan to stay out until 1am. The hotel has agreements with 2 car parks - definitely use Hynes which has much wider spots than Spanish Arch but a bit farther walking to hotel. Entrance to hotel is easily missed so watch carefully.

Right in the heart of Galway bars, restaurants, and shops just out the door. EU style no doubt. Parking not bad. Spanish arch garage right by. Parking just tight but everything is there. Wonderful if you want to be midst all the hustle and bustle

We had a wonderful experience with the bellman at the hotel. He was very personable, and even gave us chocolates for our anniversary celebration. The room was very clean and we loved the decoration. Overall we had a great experience there.

The location is ideal but not if u have lots of luggage (I.e traveling around Ireland and this being the last stop). The parking is off site and u have to carry luggage up the first flight of steps. U have to wheel luggage down a cobblestone street the lift it up a few steps into the smallest lobby I’ve ever seen. After staying at other locations in Ireland this was the least favorite for us. Definitely focused on city location and not amenities or service. I also left a few clothing items. When I realized it the next day I called and the staff said they’d mail them back to me. Yeah . . , that never happened. So the cost of the room was then doubled by losing $300USD in clothes. The room was hot in July and had no air. There was a fan. Windows had to be open and it sits on the busiest street in Galway. So that wasnt ideal. Noisy. Because it is in walking distance of some great attractions I gave it 2 stars. Otherwise I would have given It zero.

Great Hotel for City People

This hotel is in the middle of the city center and there is a lot going on. If you need complete silence, this is not the hotel for you. My room was on the first floor and I could hear music from the bar until quite late, but it wasn’t anything earplugs or headphones couldn’t mask. The room is small (like 2 people would have been too many kind of small) but the bed was very comfortable and they fit a lot of amenities into a small space (kettle, coffee maker, safe, tv, work space with solid WiFi connection, etc.) Every staff person I interacted with was amazing, and the pub attached is great.

Great location if you love to be in the middle of things. However, it’s above a very fun bar so if you sleep with the window open it’s very loud and if you close it the room can get a bit stuffy (no ac).

This hotel is excellent. Right in the heart of the busy tourist section of Galway, but it is like a sanctuary. The hotel has a restaurant and bar that is excellent. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. If you are looking for an experience , then I really recommend this place.

Hotel is located on Quay Street which has a lot of shops and restaurants with live music. Our room was interesting as we had 3 people (my daughter, my husband, and myself). If you have 3 people your room has 3 twin beds. One for each person. The bathroom was nice. They provided 2 fans which was nice. The staff were nice. We did have an issue getting back into the hotel one night. We had dinner late and got back to the hotel around 11pm and the front door was locked. We rang the doorbell multiple times and knocked. Eventually a staff member opened the door and apologized for the delay.

Great location. Food was great. The only complaint would be no ac in hotel and it’s very loud being above the bars/restaurants. Bring your own shower cap, bar soap, shampoo/condition. Would stay again just in a back room not street side.

The location is the best, right down in the historic quarter near Spanish Arch, where the buildings are hundreds of years old. You feel like you are walking the road of history. The staff was so friendly and helpful, so we stayed an extra day. The bed was the best we’ve had this trip, so we caught up on our sleep without taking extra time for it! I would definitely stay here again.

This property is in need of a complete overhaul. The carpets are very smelly, stained, and have not been cleaned or replaced in many years. It is not clearly marked and not easy to get to. We unloaded bags and had to navigate garage floors, then we were dropped in a cross with a few Alley ways. Not at all easy. The room had no Air Conditioning and the window opened a few inches for air. They had a fan that was loud and very old. This place was very inconvenient a huge disappointment. I will be pursuing a refund. Total sh*t show and should not be listed on Expedia!
