The house was absolutely gorgeous, spacious and stocked with everything we needed. The beds were all comfortable which is a huge plus to us. This house was perfect for a long weekend for us girls. The location was great and beach access very close by. Will definitely be back.

Everything about the stay was easy from check-in to leaving. The living space was great for out group of 8 adults and 7 kids. Plenty of space in the dining room and the kitchen was well appointed with just about every type of equipment we needed for our meals. The master on the 2nd floor was great and spacious. We loved all of the "toys" available in the garage for use in the pool and at the beach.The one and only drawback - if it could be called that - is that there was only one bathroom on the main level, and it was connected to one of the bedrooms

Our 2025 IOP Vacation at the Lucky Penny

The Lucky Penny worked out great for our family! Everyone enjoyed the house and the pool. It's only a block away from the ocean, so we were easily able to enjoy the beach as well! The only issue with the online listing is that it did not include a layout of each floor. However, the layout ended up working perfectly for our families.

Epic house

The house is huge and stylish, spacious rooms, great kitchen, with many areas to sit as a group as well as a front porch and sitting area for a little quiet. AC was first rate. Beds were comfortable. The salt-water pool and deck were a hit. And the house is about a 2-minute walk to the ocean beach, though we did not spend much time there. The neighborhood is quiet, almost no car traffic. Definitely worth visiting again.

Stressful

Property was great and well equipped for a family of 14. Proximity to beach was a real plus. We did not use the pool area due to time of year but the large back porch was great.Only issue, which caused be much stress, is the No Warning before eviction Policy. * girls can be loud at times. I would not recommend this property for large families with lots of children.

Great Girls Getaway

Eight women shared this incredible house. We had room to spread out both inside and out. I’ve rented many vacation homes, this kitchen wins the award for being well organized and fully stocked. I also appreciated all the labels on light switches. Isle of Palm is a great destination for beach, restaurants, shopping and Jazzercise.

Family vacation

My family consists of 8 adults and 7 kids ages 2 to 11. The bedrooms worked well for my family. The pool although not large was clean and well maintained. We made good use it. The walk to the beach was short and the beach sand is soft and wide. This area of the beach was not crowded. The property manager responded promptly to texts and was helpful. The drive to very good restaurants is short.

Awesome and Memorable Vacation

This house was the perfect location for our family vacation (family members range in age from 1 to 84). We had no issues at all with the house - the layout was great, the AC worked perfectly, all rooms were clean with spacious bathrooms, and the kitchen was easy to cook in for 12 people every night. There were plenty of pots and pans and leftover spices. Harris Teeter was only minutes away for daily grocery and beverage shopping. We started every morning with coffee on the comfortable porch overlooking the pool/backyard - the porch fans were perfect as it was so hot even early in the day. We played lots of basketball and volleyball games in the beautiful clean pool, the twin one year olds loved the shallow pool section (where the lounge chairs are). We played ping pong, darts, corn hole, and there were tons of beach toys, floats, beach chairs and a beach wagon left behind by previous visitors. It was a really hot week so we spent time mostly in the pool although we did walk the one block over to the beach every morning as the beach is beautiful. Our grown boys rented surf boards from Carolina Surf and took lessons as well as rented the boards afterwards to practice. They surfed right off 6th Ave beach access, just 3 minutes from the house. We played golf at Wild Dunes Links and Rivertowne, both great courses. There is so much to do on Isle of Palms! We would definitely return to the Lucky Penny again as it was a perfect and memorable vacation for our family!

5 star stay!

What a great week! We enjoyed our vacation at The Lucky Penny so much!! Every amenity you can think of is provided, and the “Guest Swap Shop” in the garage under the stairs is a huge bonus!!! We could have left all of our beach gear at home because they provided it all!!! Every aspect is covered here, from cleanliness to great communication to excellent location! The house is gorgeous and perfect for extended families! Highly recommend The Lucky Penny!!!!

A Great Week

The Lucky Penny does not disappoint. We had a family reunion. It was a great place for all to mingle. Property management team was very responsive to any needs. The house is beautifull, spacious, very close to beach and restaurants. I would stay here again. What a great week.

Amazing property!

The house was perfect for our very large family gathering, couldn't ask for a better location + amenities. We had a few smaller issues and the property management team was extremely responsive in fixing them for us or offering guidance. We will hopefully be back!

A Week in Paradise

Our group of 12 friends loved everything about our week at The Lucky Penny. We were close to the beach and enjoyed long walks every morning, and it was easy to get in and out of Charleston for a few sightseeing adventures. We used the pool every single day, and the house and amenities are wonderful!

Spacious beach house with ALL the amenities

With fourteen of us, ranging in ages from 76 to 14 months, the Lucky Penny provided us with everything we needed! The kitchen was spacious and great for large meal preparation. We procured our meats and seafood from the local markets! The oversized front and back porches were heavily used everyday, all day! It was great being so close to the beach and two town squares (IOP and Sullivan's Island). We did rent a LSV 6-seater which the kids loved riding around on. Would definitely stay here again!!

Great location!

The house is incredible. We actually had so much fun there that we canceled a lot of our plans in Charleston so that we could spend more time In the house and at the beach. The property management team were extremely responsive and attentive to all of our needs! 10/10 would recommend staying here. We are considering making it a yearly tradition!

GREAT family reunion home

The Lucky Penny was everything it advertised. The home is spacious, clean and well cared for. 15 adults were able to stay comfortably. The kitchen table is the best for dinners and game nights. Easy access to the beach, and walk or bike to town. Highly recommend The Lucky Penny!

What an amazing place to stay. Everything as described and it’s close to places to eat and the grocery store. Neighborhood seemed like it was great, lots of people on golf carts tooling around. The owners were very accommodating for our group and the property management team was on point. Will be back next year and hope to stay here again

Great house for large family gatherings

We had 3 generations here and things went very well. Grandma never had to leave the main floor as she had a large suite and could watch the kids play in the heated pool from the large balcony. The teen area with PlayStation and the ping pong table got lots of play, and the kitchen was well stocked. The large public spaces were complimented with numbers of bedrooms and baths. A couple of appliances were a little long in the tooth but an overall excellent stay with a responsive host.
