Enjoyed the spa and the ideal location near historic sites and public transportation. It’s definitely in the tourist area. Definitely take advantage of the sauna and spa if you come here.

Ideal city centre stay

The location is excellent, short walk to all the main sites such as The Blue Mosque, Cistern and Hagia Sophia. For a city centre hotel the rooms are a good size and the price is reasonable. The staff are outstanding, very professional and helpful at all times. Breakfast buffet has a wide range plus cooked dishes are available. The clear glass walls (with net curtains) in the bathroom are certainly different!

The Romance Hotel is located in a fantastic location close to all the key sites in Istanbul. The staff are warm and friendly and want you to have a great time. A special mention to the lovely Turkish lady at breakfast each day. Her smile and warmth was lovely and you would look forward to seeing her each day. The room was clean and well kept with lots of storage space. Though located on the train line the noise was reduced by I think very good glazing on windows and doors. The Romance Hotel would be my number one spot on a return visit to Istanbul.

Delightful stay! Central to everything in the old town, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Rooms were so nice, and the bed was super comfortable. We would stay here again without hesitation. Wish we’d had the chance to take advantage of the Turkish Bath - next time!

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and will book it again in the future. The hotel is well located in the historic area of Istanbul. It was an easy walk to the major landmarks of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. The tram is directly outside the hotel if you wish to avoid walking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The welcome juice and lokum was well received after a long day travelling from Greece. We stayed in a room with a king and single bed which was spacious. It was on the first floor and although I was worried about the street noise it was actually very quiet! The shower is quite small which was not a problem for us but might be an issue if you are larger. We also used the private car to go to and from the airport and the service was excellent. We had room service the first night which was excellent and was delivered within 20 minutes of ordering! The breakfast in the hotel was excellent. We also ate at the hotel recommended restaurant Olive Anatolian which was very good, and also really enjoyed the meal and service at New Hatay just near the hotel.

This is a beautiful property, the breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff was very helpful. The room was beautiful but small (typical for Europe). No wash cloths in the bath, again; typical for European hotels. The biggest detractors are the location. It apparently is not accessible via automobile because our transfer van and our transfer van to the cruise terminal both parked uphill and around the corner from the hotel requiring us to drag our bags about 50 m over cobblestone. This was especially challenging again for my wife and me having to drag three of the four bags myself while she drug the fourth bag. There is a metro trolley that runs in front of the hotel and is quite noisy. I suggest then to request a room away from the street front. Otherwise, a great stay that is very close to the hagia Sophia.

Our stay at Istanbul Romance Hotel ranks in the top five hotel experiences I’ve had in over fifty years of international and domestic travel. From pre-check in email communications to assistance with post-check out luggage storage, the staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and professional. Faruk, who quickly became our buddy, met us outside the hotel to help with suitcases, he enthusiastically took us to our room, and he recommended and escorted us to a very nice restaurant. His partners at the front desk were equally accommodating. The room was clean, well furnished, and comfortable. Finally, the location was perfect, a short walk to the major attractions and the Grand Bazaar. I would stay there again and highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys service with a big smile.

Wonderful hotel! Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a separate seating area with its own TV. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel’s location in the old city is excellent - a ten minute walk from Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque or Topaki Palace. For other locations, the superb and easy to use Istanbul tramway is literally outside the front door (but can’t be heard inside the hotel). Highly recommended.
