Great Stay at Anchors Away

House was very clean, had a deep freezer and an espresso machine which was a nice touch! (Nobody sells coffee beans on the island so recommend bringing your own) Kitchen had just about everything you need for meal prep and cooking, nice grill out back. Had a small issue with the hot water knob in the master shower and the owner sent someone right out to fix it. Overall wonderful stay, would recommend and will be back next time in Jekyll! Nice job keeping this place feeling like a home away from home.

GREAT STAY AT ANCHOR'S AWAY !

We had a wonderful time staying at Anchors Away on Jekyll Island from 6/25/25-6/28/25 on our way traveling to Boone, NC and then from 7/12/25-7/15/25 on our return trip to Ft. Myers, FL. We had stayed at Anchors Away last June and we reserved our days for this past trip soon after our first time there. The house is spacious with lovely furnishings, an updated kitchen, coffee bar and wine cooler fridge. The bed in the primary suite has a comfortable mattress with high quality linens and there are new, luxurious soft and fluffy bath towels. There is a nice deck area and a fenced-in back yard that is perfect for your pups to run around. The beach access is a short 10-minute walk from the house. The days that we were there, the beach was beautiful to walk at low tide and not crowded. My husband rented a bicycle and enjoyed riding the fantastic bike path that goes along the entire perimeter of the island. It is shaded most of the way by huge, beautiful oak trees and there are no golf carts or motorized bikes or scooter permitted on the path so that makes it better (and safer) for the bikers. It was awesome to walk through the neighborhood and see the families of deer up-close as they are used to co-existing with people and dogs in the neighborhood. The property management staff were very responsive and accommodating. We have already reserved our time there for next June and July! We highly recommend a stay at Anchors Away!

The people in the neighborhood were friendly and we were about two block walk from the beach. We will differently stay at Anchors Away for our next visit.

This was our second stay at Anchors Away (we stayed 3 nights on our way traveling to Boone, NC and 3 nights on our return trip to Ft. Myers, FL). We feel truly Blessed that we found this lovely home at this special location on Jekyll Island! The house is spacious with a nice deck and fenced-in back yard that is great for the pups. The furnishing are lovely with a very comfortable bed in the primary bedroom with nice quality linens and towels (that were brand new, large fluffy bath sheets. The house is well maintained and was very clean. We love the coffee bar and wine cooler fridge. The floor plan is an excellent use of space for each room. The walk to the beach is a pleasant one (about 10 minutes or less). The beach is beautiful to enjoy at low tide it is quite expansive and not too crowded. There are good restaurants for take-out as we did not dine-out since we had our border collie with us and it was too hot to sit outside for dining. My husband rented a bicycle and enjoyed riding the bike path around the entire island. It is a wonderful bike path that is shaded by awesome oak trees most of the path and fantastic scenery! We enjoyed seeing the deer who are native to the island and are not too skiddish of people and dogs walking close by. We highly recommend a visit to Jekyll Island to stay at Anchors Away! We already reserved our time there for next July! I meant to include that the management staff is very responsive and accomodating.

At home by the beach

This home had everything we needed for a relaxing time at the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed for quick meals, the patio was a great gathering spot and the neighborhood was quiet. We really appreciated being able to walk to the beach access and just a quick drive into town to shop or get ice cream. Perfect for our family!

Wonderful stay on Jekyll Island

We had an amazing week on Jekyll Island! The house is exactly as described, but better! We enjoyed the back patio and the grill, out puppy enjoyed hanging out in the fenced backyard, and I really appreciated the Tupperware. We cook a lot on our vacation and having storage for leftovers was a game changer. The location is fantastic, it is a very short walk to the beach and the neighborhood is quiet. We saw deer in the neighborhood pretty much everyday. We loved it and we will be back!

Mother and Sons Getaway

We had an amazing stay at this property and can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully maintained. Communication with the property manager was top-notch—prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay.The home itself is a true gem. The open and airy sunroom quickly became our favorite hangout spot, offering the perfect place to sip morning espresso (thanks to the well-stocked espresso station!) while watching the local wildlife wander by. The superior air conditioning kept us cool and comfortable, even during the hottest afternoons, and the excellent water pressure in the showers was such a treat after a day at the beach.Speaking of the beach, the property’s proximity made it super easy to stroll or cruise over using the provided beach cruisers. The inclusion of beach chairs, a gas grill, a wine fridge, and even a chest freezer made everything so convenient and comfortable. We also appreciated how pet-friendly the home is—our furry family member felt just as welcome as we did.The kitchen was impressively well stocked, making cooking a breeze, and the internet connectivity was strong and reliable—perfect for staying connected or streaming movies at night. All in all, this home was a dream, and we are already planning our return visit. Thank you for sharing your beautiful slice of paradise with us!

Trip to Jekyll for wedding

Our daughter had a small wedding on Driftwood beach and this place was perfect for the family since it was close to everything. The house is tastefully decorated and has lots of natural light which was perfect for the bride to get ready and for pictures. The layout of the home is nice with spots to relax and gather. I would stay here again next time I am in Jekyll.

Hidden gem on Jekyll for families with pets

This fantastic property was perfect for our family vacation! It was clean, modern, and beautifully decorated. The three bedrooms and two sitting areas allowed us to spread out, and the six seater table was great for dinner! They even had a water and food bowl for our doggo! The back patio has beautiful lighting, and the yard is fenced. Loved the location (two blocks from the beach). Can’t wait to return!

Wonderful stay!

Anchors Away was the perfect location for our ten day stay. The duplex was recently updated, very clean, and cozy. We were close to the bike trail and Beach Village. The neighborhood was excellent for walking our dogs, plus they enjoyed the fenced-in yard. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. We are already making plans to return next year. Highly recommended!

Older Home Nice Updates

You can tell the home was built in the 70s but they really did a very nice job updating the homes, especially the bathrooms and brand new kitchen. Some walls had some scuffs and things, and we photographed them upon arrival. Host was excellent and very responsive. One suggestion please provide more toilet paper.
