We had a great stay at the Truitt and will definitely be staying here again! The property was absolutely beautiful and very tastefully updated. We loved the multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas, and we couldn't imagine a better location. Just a short walk from the museum and the Art Institute, and a quick drive to shopping and restaurants. This will be our go-to hotel going forward, and we are also excited about trying their other properties as well.
As a writer, I often search for the precise word, trying to avoid the tired trio of fantastic, awesome and excellent. For The Truitt, I settled on "impeccable." Every detail reflected genuine thought—the decor, the operations, the entire guest experience. The sitting area greets you with understated elegance that whispers rather than shouts. Carefully curated art rewards those who appreciate subtlety over spectacle. Our room feels like a private sanctuary, with linens chosen by someone who values true comfort and amenities placed with the kind of intuitive care that distinguishes authentic hospitality from mere service. Treat yourself at The Truitt.
Truly gorgeous boutique hotel. The attention to detail put into this place was just perfect. My hubby and I ran to KC for an overnight trip/concert and I found Truitt and had to book. Truitt is a completely remodeled historic home, it sits in a nice part of town with activities, food and art all around. It is a mix of MCM, classic and modern decor. Parking was accessilble and the instructions for access were easy. It works much like a VRBO or AirBNB, the hosts are off-site but accessible.
The room itself was gorgeous. It was dark and moody and cozy. We were on the 3rd floor and the room had huge doormers and windows and a large bathroom. The bed, towels, linens and bath products were all great. I would say the only drawback for me was having to get dressed to go down to get coffee, but I would overlook it and stay here again for sure.
Wonderful, charming and spacious hotel in a beautiful neighborhood. Our 2nd stay at the duo properties and we’d highly recommend both The Truitt and Aida hotel
The Truitt is a beautiful boutique hotel (think Bed and Breakfast without the breakfast). It’s clean, comfortable and very well decorated. The parking situation is terrible though and needs to be addressed. There are only 3 usable off street parking spaces which means that more than 50% of the guests on a given night will be forced to park on the unprotected and very narrow KC city streets. Auto break-ins are a REAL BIG problem in KC which is why the email we received from the Truitt said in bold not to leave anything visible in your car when parking. Even with only 3-4 off street parking spots, we parked closest to the Truitt and got blocked in by the 3 spaces that are behind the KC Art Institute building, which was a real pain in the backside. The home’s driveway leading to the back is also too narrow to fit a full sized car/truck down it, which I suppose is why the property had it blocked off with cones. I would also recommend that the Truitt add a Kourig coffee machine since they only have an espresso shot machine currently. We would like to return but can’t justify doing it until more off street parking is added.
