The rooms were spacious and clean. Housekeeping came daily to switch out towels, stock coffee, empty garbage, and make beds, if needed. The rooms are equipped with a fridge, keurig coffee maker, a safe and ample storage (closet area, 3 drawer dresser, desk/vanity, open area at end of bed for suitcases, shoes, etc).

Beautiful property, loved staying here with my 13 yr old son. So amazingly close to the ocean, love being able to watch the sunset from one of the many beach chairs set up for us on the beach. the restaurant was great and rooms kept clean. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Would love to stay here again!

The Good. Location on the island, Lave Beach Club, Beach, Pools. The Bad. If there is a line at the check in desk, You Will WAIT. The front desk does not function well when there is a line. The front desk staff can also be snippy and unconcerned at this. The front desk also handles towels and bikes. So, if you would like fresh beach towels and there are a bunch of people checking in, you Will WAIT to get new ones. Twice the room was not serviced. We then had to call every day to remind them to service our room. Front desk staff couldn’t bring themselves to say Thank You for staying there upon checkout. If the hotel could fix the front desk issues, it would be a very good hotel.

Older hotel but newly remodeled. Was quiet and peaceful. The parking lot does not have enough slots for all guests. Parking slots were extremely narrow.

Great value for price! Well located between South and North of Kauai. Rooms with kitechnette are well equipped, and enable to enjoy making our own food. Pool are basic but clean. Staff was super nice and helpful

This sweet Hotel on the beach, with an excellent fun restaurant is wonderful. It’s a totally remodeled old Hawaiian Hotel. Takes you back to casual relaxed Hawaii. The walking , bike path along the beach in front of the hotel, takes you to many restaurants, shops and beaches.

This hotel is very big and very nice. The parking is a terrible situation and unsafe. When you rent a car make sure to get full coverage. When you parks they give you 3 inches on each side of your lucky. You must let your passenger out first then try to squeeze in the spot. One or two doors will receive dings from car doors that parked next to you.

Our stay here was fine, but not great. There were no beach towels available, room cleanliness was just ok, and we had a mediocre dining experience at Lava Lava. All in all, it served its purpose, but I wouldn’t seek this out for a longer stay.

Great place. My only minor gripe is the additional $30 p/day “resort fee.” It’s not optional so just build it into the room rate and be more transparent about the total cost.

Stayed here for our honeymoon and we had a wonderful stay. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. All staff were hospitable and kind. Lava Lava was very convenient and breakfast was 10/10. Location is adjacent to a marketplace with restaurants and shops, very convenient. Also, location on the island made it easy to travel to both north and south without issue. Parking spaces were tiny but they have complimentary valet which compensated for that. Overall, I would recommend Kaua’i Shores.

Better Than Expected

I have to say that this hotel’s website doesn’t do the hotel justice. We booked expecting a nice, lower-priced hotel that would mainly be a place to sleep between adventures. What we got was a wonderful hotel with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The only negative experience we had was no fault of the hotel; someone stole our water bottles when we left them unattended on the beach. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.
