The house is roommy, fresh, and very clean. Our family of four had a great time. If I were to nitpick I would mention the roof. Sometimes it makes crackling noise as if somebody is walking on top of the house. We got used to it by the second or the third day of our stay.

This beautiful home has a wraparound deck, which we love to have dinner on and our coffee in the morning. Views of the ocean from our deck and a short walk, leads you to the most beautiful spot to watch the sunrise each morning. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and the quiet of this location. The neighbours were so friendly I would wave to you as they walk in the morning. It was easy to get to the main road and to Hilo. We hope to return someday soon and recommend this beautiful spot to anyone who is looking for a local experience.Thank you so much for taking such good care of us while we were there! Everything about this home is beautiful and stellar. It is subsided enough in a quiet neighborhood right across from the ocean yet in a good location to get around the Big Island. We’re had the pleasure of a tsunami warning during our stay. The communication from the host company was amazing and they were there to help answer any and all questions during the event and anytime during the stay. I use VrBO frequently and this was one of my best experiences. Mahalo!

We were able to enjoy the pool almost everyday and it was wonderful after walking down to the cliffs. House was well stocked except we couldn't find a cutting board. The house is comfortable in a really nice neighborhood across the road from the ocean. You can see a tiny keyhole view through the neighbors trees, but I would not consider it an ocean view. It is however a very short walk to a path that leads to the ocean. There is a wonderful lanai on the property but no lounge type chairs to enjoy the sunrise, only the table and chairs for meals. The roof is extremely noisy throughout the day and night as the metal roof expands and contracts with temperature changes. A way to access the garage from the ground floor would also be nice. For example a wireless keypad. The pool was beautiful but a bit frigid during our stay.

Ambiance & privacy

A delightful house on a quiet street. Good air circulation in the house (no AC), so open all the many windows and relax on one of two lanais while the interior cools down. The evenings were quite pleasant: Comfortable beds & evening bird/frog songs through the night (bring earplugs for sleeping!) Kitchen was well equipped. The pool was a fabulous way to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Would definitely recommend!

This is a hard review. The home and pool are very nice but we rented for the promise and picture of the ocean. I had dreamed of watching the sun come up over the ocean and watching the waves for large portions of the day. Loved our stay

The house is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Throughout the day, you get the relaxing sounds of nature with the waves crashing, numerous birds, frogs, and, my personal favorite, some rooster crows. The neighborhood is very friendly and there are always people out for walks and bike rides.The space is large and comfortable. The pool is much larger than expected, great for swimming, relaxing, or playing at any time of day. Spending time on the lanai is perfect in the heat of the day with a cool breeze coming off the ocean. We received a friendly message from our maintenance contact before our check in time but had no need to reach out.

Our experience this time was as wonderful as the first. The house is beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The pool is gorgeous and in fabulous condition. The location is the best in Keaau. The street is peaceful, the ocean breezes are lovely and keep the lanai cool. The neighbors are friendly. The property management company was very responsive and professional. We've rented many houses in Hawaii and this is our favorite.
