The kitchen stood out for how dirty it was. Gas stove burners lined with foil to conceal very old debris; oven and broiler did not work at all. Kitchen cabinets (all of them) so sticky finger tips adhered to them. Rug under dining room table prevented chairs (which were old, low and soiled) from moving. Dishwasher missing utensil holder. Missing basic supplies (salt, pepper, paper goods, soap dispensers, etc. in short supply or broken. Bathrooms poorly supplied (lucky to have one bath towel in each). "Master" Bedroom oddly located with two baths nearby, but located on a level below and about 7 steps down. No railing on stairway. Fall risk high. A couple smaller bedrooms located below grade in basement. Others above grade. Room configuration scattered and very odd. Deck access from main living area, through screened porch. Outside deck area filthy. Chair cushions covered with tree debris and so waterlogged streams of water poured from them. House many miles from downtown Keene. For biking enthusiasts (and even walkers), a Cheshire Rail Trail trailhead with very small parking area, a couple miles from house but down a very steep winding and car-trafficked rural road from the house. Trail goes directly into downtown Keene (lovely) and then into lovely woods, hard packed trail, getting progressively worse, bumpy and only ride-able with an off-road or mountain bike for about 10 miles out. Bottom line, I'll go back to Keene but never to this property.
