The best choice for staying in the area!!! What a great stay, we grilled steaks on the deck, had eagles flying over, Sea Lions swimming by, so peaceful you just melt into the scenery. As for the host, THE BEST, we even picked up a copy of her book from the connected park giftshop... my only regret was not talking Tedi into a tour... the bed was amazingly comfortable, the kitchen was perfect for the week and the grill out on the deck just put the icing on the cake... LOVED our stay... save one night and get reservations at the Bush Pilot's Lounge in town... get all of your groceries at Safeway or Walmart... explore the area with Alaska Rental Car... Loved our stay... did I mention we loved our stay?
Pretty much what we expected. Location is amazing, right on the water. It's far out of town and a bit isolated, so you'll want a rental car. Taxi is 60 one way. Bus runs once an hour and is only a 5 minuted walk to the stop, but last bus is around 6 PM. It's more rustic than most places on Vrbo, so just set your expectations properly and you'll be pleased. Wifi worked. Coffee maker worked. Microwave worked. Fridge worked. Washer and dryer worked. All good.
This is not my first or last time staying at one of Tediâs properties. She is easy to work with and the property is absolutely stunning with oceanfront views!
This unit is better than advertised. Location is away from the cruise ship madness and on the water (we caught a few fish casting from the deck on a higher tide). The views are incredible. The actual unit is quaint and feels like the perfect cabin with all the ammenities. The owner really takes care of you and everything you need and expect is included. They were VERY accomodating and understanding when our flight from Seatac to Ketchikan was cancelled and we were rebooked to a flight a few days later. Luckily that never happened but they were extremely reassuring during the ordeal which took a lot of stress off of our plate. You will not be disappointed and highly recommend this unit. We'll be back!
Overall, good. We loved it being a bit rough and rugged compared to a hotel. Although the place could use a clean up in the closets and under the bed. They are in the middle of construction/renovations... it looked like, but not listed. Loved the view and walkable to the park, and decently close to town.
We loved the location and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ketchikan. The view from the deck is amazing. We loved seeing starfish, sea lions and a whale from the deck. The view of the junk yard from the bedrooms? Definitely not as pretty as the water view.
Loved being able to walk through Potlatch Park and to Totem Bight. Amazing history.
Not the most comfortable furniture/ beds, but sufficient.
Our stay in this place was awesome. It is secluded, quiet and right on the water for evening fishing off the deck. Planning on going back next year. Tedi, the owner, was more than willing to refund us for the first night hotel stay because we couldn't find the house. I highly recommend this house if you want peace and quiet.
As someone who was born in Ketchikan this location exceeded expectations.
Watching 3 deer swim across the narrows and walk up the beach, as we had our coffee, was a highlight of the trip.
Making a first impression is so important but this property does exactly the opposite! Pulling into the driveway there were piles of trash, old cars, trucks, and boats all around, and lots of weeds. I was heartbroken! The cabin we were given wasn't much better. It was musty smelling with very old decor. After calling the owner we were able to move to the updated cabin B next door, but I had to spend the first hour cleaning the dust off the furniture, sweeping and vacuuming the entire cabin. Not the kind of thing you want to do when you have spent several thousands of dollars for the week. The view of the water was nice, however the junk such as steel I beams and plywood should be removed from the shore. A disappointment for the money we spent.
Location was great. Enjoyed walking next door at the Potlatch Totem Park. All colors of starfish along the waters edge at low tide. Booking experience was great. One bed great the other bed not so great. Canât say enough about the awesome view, and very quiet.
Two friends and I were in Ketchikan for a week of fishing so it was extra cool that we could fish right on the property! The house is clean and cozy and the location was perfect for us. The view from the deck is breathtaking! We would definitely stay again. Thanks!
We had a great experience during our stay. The property is right on the water and close a store and marina we were fishing from. The owner was quick to respond and answered any questions we had. We will definitely be looking to stay there again in the future.
great stay, private and quiet with good trail access
It is right connected to the potlatch totem park which was nice. The deck is great...overlooking the ocean, but not close enough to fish from. Great access to hikes. Drive to the end of the highway and do the lunch loop hike.
Perfect place to stay for your Ketchikan adventure!
Charming cottage with beautiful ocean views. Very private and great location (next door to totem park, ~15 mins from downtown, and close to plenty of hiking trails). The deck overlooking the water sold us and it did not disappoint!
This cabin is nestled in a little remote (but not to remote) location next to the Potlatch Totem Park. Beautiful views of the water and mountains. The views are breath taking. The park next door is awesome, I did not get all the way through because the last full day we were there is was raining pretty good and we had a late start, but what I did see was amazing. The cabin is cute and reminds me of home with my grandma. Has everything you need. From a hair dryer to a BBQ! There is a little remodeling being done for a laundry area on the exterior and also some interior remodeling. The host are very nice people and had some wonderful stories! All said and done I would stay here again!
