Location was great but the coffee machine was broken in the lounge, heat was stuck on in the carriage house, needed it the first few days but needed air conditioning the rest of the time but couldn’t make it work, windows don’t stay open unless propped up, bed was very comfortable, plenty of towels, area needed aired out when we arrived, and could have been cleaner. Host responded appropriately.

Ideal location, parking spot, and privacy for a stay in Key West. The only thing stopping me from giving a higher rating is a power issue we had during our stay. We used the VRBO provided hair dryer which tripped the circuit breaker. We could not locate the breaker and the maintenance team did not come until after we had to check out. We did not have power in the unit for 15 hours. No lights and no where to charge your phone on your last night is not an ideal end to a vacation.

Pros: Great location, a stones throw from Duval and yet quiet and private; helpful communication from host, parking, check-in and -out were easy; comfortable bed, warm shower, and nice little hot tubCons: Dusty and musty room; the one chair in the room was gross and the rug looks like it has seen some stuff over the years. It would be helpful to trim out some of the brush between the fence and the side of the building because the winds whips them off the roof throughout the night.

The power was not on when we arrived and had to call management twice to have the breaker turned on - the place also smelled so strongly of bleach is was nauseating.Very beat up furniture - rug was dingy.Great location and parking. But there were large hard fruits falling from the trees above bouncing off our vehicles roof, etc.

Key West Vacation

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the carriage house! It felt very secluded and private, which made it a peaceful retreat right in the heart of Key West. Having our own parking spot was a huge plus (it easily fit two sedans or one car and a golf cart). We actually left our car parked and rented a scooter to explore the area, which worked out perfectly.The shower was great, and while a mini fridge would have been convenient, the cooler provided from the main house did the job just fine. The absolute best part of this rental was the location- just steps away from the main section of Duval Street, yet tucked away enough to feel quiet and relaxing.The owner was quick to reply to the questions we had which was very helpful and the cleaning staff was very friendly and truly concerned about the quality of our stay (we met them when returning for our car).Highly recommend for anyone looking for a centrally located, private place to stay in Key West!

Mother/Daughter getaway.

We loved our little bungalow which was separate and private from the inn itself. The nicest surprise and feature of our spot was the outdoor shower, simply heaven. Jason on staff was super friendly making good recs for dining and also came asap when filter was on the fritz. Great customer service.Location was ideal and only steps from the action on Duval. We would def stay again and recommend to others. Much thanks!

Nice place, clean, quiet but close to Duvall St where all the activities were. A little confusing with the various codes to open gate, and main house then our Carriage house was separate. But once we figured it out, it was as instructed. I believe the separate Carriage house was much more quiet than the main house which was nice. Staff was very pleasant and did a good job. Good location as it is within walking distance of KeyWest Express dock and yet close to Duval St and Mallory Square. I would stay with this owner and at this location again.

Great spot for a quiet getaway

I was so pleased with this stay! The location is amazing - close to Duval st but enough distance that it was super quiet. I was able to rent a bike right across the street quickly and easily. The outdoor shower is a treat - the water pressure was amazing. The backyard pool was lovely and I had it to myself anytime I went back there. My only suggestion to improve this would be to have separate pool/ beach towels available and maybe some explanations of the light switches. But there are simple floor lamps I could easily figured out so I was able to have just enough light. I would definitely come here again.

Hidden Oasis in the Midst of ALL the things

With no street numbers, look for the Red Brick House and Driveway... The Carriage House at Grand Maloney is somewhat hidden... I felt a little "James Bond" feeling as we used secret codes to enter our hideaway complete with cold AC and everything needed for our FIRST Key West getaway. Once finding it... we ventured outdoors to find ALL of Duval street and Mallory Square within walking distance. This little room has almost everything you need to enjoy all that Key West has to offer. The shower includes two settings for overhead or direct spray plus very hot and great pressure with Alchemist Bath Products as a huge plus. Outside, a similar shower and a beautiful hot / cold tub which we enjoyed to wash off items and relax (respectively). Fans within the room were great to cool off plus dry clothes and air out the Bathroom. Head to the main house for a shared Refrigerator and Espresso machine! This room includes a NICE parking space plus LOCATION! Hubs LOVED the bed (He is super picky about bedding so this was amazing to me). A few "tweaks" for the owners and this will be a stellar option and great value as a new option. We enjoyed: Mel Fisher Museum, Hemingway Museum, Southernmost Point, Moondog Cafe, El Mason de Pepe, Stoned Crab, Mallory Square, Zachary Taylor State Park and much more. Thank you ! -- Mary

Steps to Duval!!

Other than we slept with the lights on the first night because the switches were very difficult to figure out as other people have said, that there was a strong Kilz smell in the room and when I used the hairdryer it took out the electricity for the whole room, we had a very nice stay and the outdoor shower was so nice. It would be great if they had an ice maker in the common area and a small fridge in the room since the fridges in the common area were full. I would go back just for the outdoor shower and private pool access this room has.

Prime location

Enjoyed a night at the carriage house. Prime location to explore Key West. Loved the private entrance and access to the pool - had everything we needed. We never made it inside the main house to look around but from the outside it looked nice. Would consider staying here again if we return to Key West!

Best shower in key west!

We enjoyed our stay and there are many great things about this room including the location which is a half a block from all the action, the parking which is right in front of the unit on the driveway and large enough for a car and a golf cart, and the shower water pressure is amazing. On the downside the room smells musty, the light switches on the wall are almost impossible to figure out, the ceiling fans are only for decoration, and the AC was struggling to keep up even in the winter. I will say the management team was very responsive and brought out and installed a brand new portable AC unit but they're still work to be done. I think the cost per night is a little high given these factors.

Good stay

The location was excellent! Just a block or two from Duval street. I had a few issues with the cleanliness of the floor but also see that leaves and debris easily enter the door every time you open it. It would be great to have a few places to hang your towels in the bathroom, no place to really place toiletries. The lighting and fan system was difficult to figure out but we got the hang of it by the time we left. Maybe a tip sheet in the unit? Lastly, a lamp by the bed would be good as we hit our legs on the bed several times going to the bathroom in the night. These are just things that might enhance others' stays. Otherwise a very good property and we would definitely stay again.
