Bedrooms were all very nice and clean. Rest of the house clean as well. Outside deck had multiple soft boards which made us nervous and paint was massively overdue. Hot tub was clean but bar for the cover was broken which didn't defeat it's use but if it's broken why not remove it? Lastly the dishwasher was the loudest appliance I've ever heard in my life. We made the mistake of running it on the first night and it kept several guests awake. We washed by hand the remainder of our time there. Fridge and other appliances were in great shape and clean. The managers were really responsive and helpful. Overall I would come back and stay here again. Beautiful area and good price too.
Floor to ceiling windows gave awesome views! Kitchen and lighting nice. However, there were no comfortable seats outside to sit on the huge deck. The couches in the family room sunk when you sat down. The window tracks were filled with cob webs and dirt. The back screen door hung off its hinges. Hot tub water cloudy. This home has so much potentialâŠ.
The house was nice, location was beautiful but wifi didnt work and there was no attempt to rectify it and communication and responses were very limited. Additionaly those of us that used the hot tub ended up with a rash. Luckily everyone seems to be getting better but may want to check on that.
In town for USASA snowboard Nationals, house was a perfect fit and had everything we needed. Had a problem with hot water on arrival but maintenance personnel had it fixed quickly. Location was in the back of neighborhood so took a little longer than expected to get in and out but no a real big deal. Overall a great place would definitely stay there again.
We arrived at the property for a 5-day ski vacation for spring break. From the pictures of the listing, it looks like a very clean large home close to the keystone resort. The check in process was fine, no issues. But as we entered the house, we immediately were taken away by the smell of cigarettes and mold/musky odor. The house is large, but it is extremely outdated and far from clean. Carpets are brown from being dirty, cobwebs and dirt and hair was found everywhere throughout the house. The baseboard heating worked in some rooms, but not in others so for a night in Colorado as temps drop a few of party froze every night. The bed linens and comforters stunk and were old and musky, we went to target and purchased new blankets as we did not want to sleep under the ones provided. The driveway was full of snow and 9 inches of ice and was very hard to navigate unloading luggage and loading up for the day. Garage was dirty and small; garage doors were finicky and broken glass and trash were left on the floor. First time I have ever been catfished on a property, and I have been using VRBO for 7-10 years. We contacted the property management and asked for at least a 50% refund and then stay at a hotel it was that bad. But they only responded by saying they could have someone come out and look at the discrepancies and install air purifiers. Never again, look at the reviews and not the pictures solely. This was a nice house 30 years ago, overpriced and not worth it.
Broken appliances, leaky ceilings which got our dry laundry wet and attracted bugs, cracked electrical stovetop risking electrical hazards, out of order fireplace, disgusting hot tub with unclean water, and unclean house. Maintenance will just put buckets on the floor for leaky ceilings and a fan and leave. The only redeeming part of the house is it has a nice open living room on the main floor, but there are no blinds so no privacy and no way to control the sun. The house is inside a community which takes a 20-30 minute drive to exit before even getting to the main road so add that to any commute calculations you have. Took an unnecessarily long time to drive out of the house to any ski areas nearby.
Place was great location to Keystone but house in general could use a little upkeep - some lightbulbs were out, cobwebs, walls had markings on staircase, canned lights in basement falling out, fireplace not working. Considering the size of the house and the group, could do with more general supplies such as paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent and towels. But otherwise served for a fun weekend.
The house has had no snow removal, no propane for the fireplace and no ânormalâ supplies in the kitchen like you expect in a VRBO. The management property kept telling us âthe owners are responsible for that.â It just felt like no one cared about this house. We definitely will not rent any future properties managed by this company. The house was beautiful and perfect for our group- it just needed love.
For the most part it was ok. Driveway and sidewalks were not scooped off and it was hard to walk getting into the garage. Propane was out so fire place and BBQ Grill did not work. Hot water was not working. Trying to get 14 people showered was impossible. Carpets were dirty. Basement sink in bathroom did not drain. Main floor bathroom sink did not drain. Probably would not rent it again. Not worth the price that we paid!
We had a wonderful girls trip. It was an easy self check in, however the cleanliness wasnât great, upon arriving there were cigarette butts all over the outside of the property by the hot tub along with empty beer cans in the yard. My friend and I got bed bug bites as we slept in the same room upstairs and they have been incredibly uncomfortable since leaving the property. The host was very good in getting back to me, however I was bummed that we didnât hear back about early check in even with asking about it months and days in advance. The house is just like the pictures however most rooms are twin beds in order to accommodate families, so good to know as we were expecting more full size beds.
There were numerous issues with this property and it is very outdated. I would not recommend this property. Below is a list of issues we experienced with the property throughout our stay.
Main floor master:
- No window coverings for glass door out to deck
- Window coverings broken so no privacy in main bedroom
- Shower curtain 12 inches too long - never dried
- Toilet paper holder coming off from wall
- Door handle broken on several bedroom doors (fell off on inside) - upstairs and main floor
- Left side sink towel handle fell off wall
House
- Fridge didnât work. Property management company Replaced with two dorm sized fridges
- Outdoor wooden furniture warped and ripped clothing
- Outdoor wooden table not stable and would fall over if you put any weight on it
- Hot tub didnât work for our stay - was a main selling point for choosing this VRBO
- Dining room chairs : a couple were broken when leaning back
- No hand soap for kitchen
- No outlet covers throughout
- basement shower broken
- one of 2 coffee pots was broken
- although the house had 2 hot water heaters, there was only enough hot water for 1-2 people to shower at a time (maintenance came out, but problem was not fixed)
- lots of weeds and house needed landscaping
- peeling paint on deck
Overall, this house has potential to be a great property, but for the price, we were very disappointed.
I had booked this home in April for a large group of us to stay for five days in June. Originally, it was only for 11 guests but I was able to message the host via the VRBO app to add 3 additional guests. They were quick to respond & gave me great feelings about how the visit would be.
Three days before our stay, I received a text from "Summit County Mountain Retreats" saying that the fridge is out of commission & would take maybe a couple of days. Day of our stay, I asked for an update & they said that it has to be replaced so they gave us a smaller fridge. We arrive & there were two small dorm fridges in the kitchen. For the time that we were there, we had to mostly live out of our coolers because we brought food for 14 people for 5 days. That night we tried to use the hot tub & it was more like a lukewarm tub with hit or miss jets. When we texted about it & the 99 brand shooter bottles lining the doorframe, they said they were notified that morning that it needed a part.
Unfortunately, there were a lot of other safety & cleanliness problems that were of concern to us that impacted our stay.
After requesting to have a point of contact to express concerns, they asked us to reply to the text. They offered a small refund when compared to the inconveniences. Some of the main features that we looked for in our stay were a hot tub & fully functional kitchen; we got neither. I would not recommend renting until the safety, cleanliness, & attention to comfortability are addressed.
We loved our stay and highly recommend this home. There was plenty of room for two families. It was cozy (especially the beds) and not overdone, it felt like home. We were close enough to the ski areas and shopping but far enough out to enjoy the views. The communication was excellent and thank you for the last minute late checkout! We are already planning a return next year.
