Spent 5 days at this walk-to-the-slopes condo in Keystone Village. It was just the right size for our group of 4...one couple, one single and a teenager on the hide-a-bed. Ski locker, garage, pool/hot tubs were very convenient, and only about a 5 min walk to the gondola. Village shopping, eats and drinks just steps away! LOVED the hot tubs each evening! Would definitely stay here again!
The unit was very comfortable for 4 people. The only thing I would upgrade is the carpet. We have stayed at other properties in the area but I think this is our favorite so far.
Great Location. The condo was close to the slopes and to River Run Village. We were able to easily access the shops and eating/drinking establishments. The location of the rental was perfect for us. It overlooked the pool/hot tub with a fabulous view of the ski hill. It was next to the steps which lead out right into the pool area. The elevator was just around the corner which was convenient for getting our luggage and groceries to the room. The ski locker was located at the very front of the locker room which ment easy access to our skis. The condo itself was clean, morning sunlight on the deck and into the living room. Nice gas fireplace and comfy furniture. Kitchen well stocked. I think it would be cramped if there were more than 4 adults staying in the condo. The Hot tubs could be very crowded at times as the pool and hot tubs were used by several complexes. A couple of nights it was quite noisy past 10 pm with partiers in the pool complex.
Overall greatly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay at this rental again.
You canât beat the location! My husband and I and two of our kids stayed here and you canât beat the location. There are a couple tiny spots that could use love like the carpet issue mentioned before but I let the manager know so hopefully itâll be already fixed up. The place was clean and quiet. Kids loved the hot tubs and super close to restaurants slopes and mini grocery and anything else you could need. Would stay again!
The check in process isnât great. I couldnât get lockbox to open to get key. After several tryâs it opened. You need a new lock box. Also no hand mitts fir cooking. Fir the most part stay was fine. One more thing. Elevator very slow. I guess that canât be fixed.
We have stayed in River Run before at Expedition Station and have heard good things about the Dakota so we found this condo and decided to give it a try. This condo is very outdated. The pictures make the condo look a lot bigger than it actually is. The description says it sleeps 9. Definitely not accurate. The condo actually sleeps more like 6. We had four adults and five children. The adults took the bedrooms and the kids spread out on the pullout couch, a cot that was brought with us, and the others slept on the floor. The coffee table had to be moved into a bedroom to make room for the pullout. The kitchen chairs were so fragile, you were hesitant to sit on them. They looked as if they would break at any minute. Upon arrival there were only 8 towels in the condo. I had messaged customer service about getting more towels that there were 9 of us. I got the response that if I wanted more towels they would coordinate with housekeeping and verify the charge. So a group of 9 people at the condo for 5 days with 8 towels and they want to charge you on top of what you paid to rent the place. hmmm.... The trash can was the size of an office desk trash can and you got 4 full size trash bags under the sink.. those didn't go far.. was I supposed to bring my own with already paying the amount of money to rent the place?!?! The place had a dirty feeling to it. The carpet looked and felt dirty. Right outside of the kitchen the carpet was pulled back and the tack strip was exposed. I think every person stepped on that thing until we put one of the fragile chairs over it so we remembered to go around. In the guest bathroom the vent on the wall had dirt/lent caked on it and hanging out. The master bedroom shower leaked as well as the toilet. The headboard in the master wasnât placed right. Any movement and it hit the wall. As I mentioned above some kiddos had to sleep on the floor. I found a set of sheets and a comforter in the guest closet to put down for a pallet. After opening the sheet there was old dried blood on the sheet. DISGUSTING!!!! That was the last straw! I emailed customer service and got the response that they were getting higher than normal emails and they would get back to me. 48 hours have gone by with no response. Needless to say we are very disappointed and will not be staying there again.
I've stayed in a lot of units in the River Run area of Keystone over the past several years and unfortunately I have to say this is my least favorite. The unit is very small and not unlike many, has furniture that is too big, especially in the master bedroom where an armoire literally has to be angled to allow access to one side of the bed. The TV's are a joke - the living area TV is about 36" and the ones in the bedroom are smaller than a regular computer monitor. The unit badly needs some TLC. All the blinds are broken, the drawers in the master bedroom furniture are off track, the carpet is so worn you need to place something over the threshold at the kitchen to avoid stepping on exposed tack strip, and the lighting is bad, especially for the dining table. The kitchen appliances are good but the sink/faucet misses its heyday in 1975. The unit is properly equipped with pots/pans, utensils, and all the silverware, etc. No blender but everything else you'll need to cook full meals. The master bed is comfortable but really bouncy and has a headboard that slaps against the wall every time you turn over. The guest bedroom is nice with a comfy bed and properly-sized furniture. The unit was not cleaned well - despite our additional COVID cleaning fee. The carpet had not been vacuumed and the sink faucet is nasty. The listing says it sleeps 9 (look in the detailed description and you'll see a more accurate 6). No way can you fit 9 people in this unit. 6 would be tight, even if 4 of them were kids. It's small. The listing also says "ski in and ski out" which is not accurate. Although the Dakota Lodge is close to the gondola, you still have to walk approx. 200-300 yds. through the Village to access the gondola - not ski-in, ski-out. The photos show the pool and hot tubs as well as the sauna. The sauna has not been operational since 2020 and the large hot tub was closed due to a maintenance issue during our stay. Our last stay at Dakota over Thanksgiving had the small hot tub not working. The Dakota is a great location, close to the slopes and right in the Village for restaurants, shopping. We love Keystone and staying in River Run but this unit needs work to rise above 2 stars in comparison to other similar units.
We loved the location of the property! Very convenient! The condo was a bit smaller than expected and was tight for 9. Some small things needed fixing, nothing detrimental! Overall great place to stay!
The room was wonderful, however, the elevators were not working and we were not notified about it. After having knee surgery on both knees, the stairs were extremely hard to manage.
