Enjoyable stay at Colington Harbour, NC

Our family of six (6) really enjoyed ourselves in Colington Harbour at this lovely beach front property. It was clean & well-maintained. We were three (3) couples (brothers & their wives) that got together for the weekend for fun, fishing & driving on beach. We literally just walked out the back door to the water. Everything you wished for was within a mile or so...great restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Wright Brothers Musuem was well worth the visit & that too was about 5 miles away. The cottage has all the amenities needed (i.e., disherwasher, plates, cups, silverware, refrigerator & washer/dryer). There are two (2) nice bedrooms (one has a half-bath). There is a pullout couch, but bring a topper if you are older! We purchased food to cook on grill provided in the back one evening. There is a screened-in back porch where we spent plenty of time lounging around & tasting different spirits. Check-in was very easy. Host provided all instructions to gain access to cottage & how to get the permit for entry into the gated community well in advance of arrival. We loved our neighbor & even one long-time resident came to say hello & chatted for awhile. Such a friendly neighborhood. The Host (Ms. Barbara) was responsive when texted & checked on us to see if everything was to our liking. All-in-all, when everyone's schedules permit, we plan to return for much longer than a weekend!

We enjoyed our stay so much and loved the screened in porch.It was easy access for our dog as he is old and has arthritis, so just a few stairs was perfect.Perfect quite location for us which is just what we were looking for.

Wonderful!

Great house, neighborhood and location!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House is very clean, nicely appointed and the fireplace was wonderful for our wintertime beach getaway. Would love to come back in warmer weather to take advantage of the lovely screened in porch, water access, and other neighborhood amenities. House is also extremely close to the Wright Brothers monument/park. Host was very friendly, helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!!

Harbor Home, Colington Island, Outer Banks

Spent the first week of November for our autumn trip to the Banks. This 2-bedroom cottage was ideal for my wife, me, and our pet Stella. The location, on a residential harbor, was ideal for enjoying the activities of the surrounding area; but, tucked away on the sound side in a quiet, gated community. We really enjoyed sitting on the boat dock with a beverage in the afternoons. Hope this property is available so we can stay here again.

Fall Road Trip from FL to ME

We stayed for 3 nights and experienced breezy weather, great generational restaurants, shopping, sunsets, lighthouse sights, and more. Beautiful well appointed cottage.

The cottage was spotless when we arrived, with a well stocked kitchen full of pots, pans, etc.. The bar had really nice glasses and platters. The screened porch was perfect where we spent most of our time. We had a wonderful time and hope to return many times in the future. The owner was very friendly and responsive to questions we had. It was super quiet and neighbors were very friendly. It was a wonderful getaway with our kids and a truly memory making long weekend. Thank you Barbara!❤️

Great mattresses!

The property is beautiful and the surroundings relaxing, as advertised. Convenient to KDH/Kitty Hawk stores and restaurants. The outdoor shower is so lovely and offers plenty of privacy. What I was really excited about was how comfortable the beds are! I always worry I won't sleep well away from home, but the mattress were super comfortable! The split A/C being adjustable in each room was also great. We had no trouble keeping the house comfortable. The dishwasher and laundry were wonderful to have. A great retreat all around!

House was nice. Need to make sure to keep shower room window open when taking a shower alomg with washing/drying clothes. Or it will set fire alarm off everytime, thats if you dont close the bathroom door anyhow. And was told we were aloud to use the kayaks but thats not true since they are locked under porch sadly. Other than that its a nice little spot

Cute & comfortable

My husband and I traveled to Colington Harbor with our small dog and paddle boards for a 5-day getaway. It was the perfect place and exactly what we needed. Great place to paddle around and made it out to the sound one evening for the best sunset. Property was very clean and had all the basics- linens, laundry & kitchen. We did not really cook (on vacation after all) but certainly could have. CH community has a small sound-side dog park that we visited daily and only once ran into another dog. We have spent many vacations over the years in the Outer Banks but this was our first stay in Colington. Highlights: bringing our dog, reading/napping on huge screened porch, dinner at SaltBox Cafe, day trip to Manteo (go to Charis Coffee co. & Kill Devil Rum) Would definitely stay again.

Back porch and backyard perfection

This would be our second stay here as a family of 6. We enjoy being close to the ocean but having the sound and the dock in our own backyard! My family loves the back porch and dock area. We spent hours each day fishing, swimming and using the paddle board and blow up boat that we brought! We made almost every meal here and spent hours of time relaxing and enjoying family time. The house is clean and the owner is wonderful with communication.
