We had a fantastic experience. The cabin was as advertised. It was clean, peaceful, lots of wildlife, and Amanda provided privacy but was very welcoming when our kids asked to play on the swing set.
Our host, Amber, was very helpful in all things. She provided us with information on many of the sites in the John Day Fossil Beds Monument. Although there wasn't much we needed as the cabin was well furnished, she made herself available if we needed anything! Lovely place to settle for a week!
Great location. Quiet and well located near hwy19 and the John Day River corridor. Cabin on same plot as owner's house on a working farm/ranch. Cabin has all you need to relax after a long day exploring or touring local roads. Will reserve again without hesitation. We had our two labradors with us and they had a blast with the owner's dogs.
Peace and quiet in the most beautiful country. Has everything you need for your stay. Never turned on the tv. Too busy gazing at the landscape, walking in the river, stargazing and playing with the two doggies and one kitty. Even ate a few apples from the tree.
We spent 3 nights in the cabin. It is located on a farm on the John Day River. The cabin is roomy, with comfortable furniture to include a very comfortable bed - my key need for any place to stay. Everything you need is included. The owners are really nice and were great to talk to. They have 3 wonderful dogs. It was the best VRBO place that we have ever stayed in. I highly recommend it.
This was a great vacation getaway. The cabin has all the comforts of home in the middle of nowhere (or the middle of everywhere, depending on how you look at it). This is a great base for exploring the John Day country and is very close to the Sheep Rock unit of the Fossil Beds National Monument.
We spent a lovely long weekend staying at the Cozy Cabin in Kimberly and we look forward to staying there again. The cabin is well-located between the three units of the John Day National Monument that made for an excellent first foray into this unique geography of Oregon.Amanda and her family made us feel right at home and the cabin has a great view across the valley to enjoy home-cooked meals while watching the sunlight play on the fields and valley walls at the start or end of a days adventure. Our daughter was thrilled to find two more girls close to her own age for hours of fun playing together on their spring break and highly recommends the swingset!
Wonderful responsive host Amanda answered all our questions and made our road trip with the dog worry free. This is a peaceful beautiful place with a view near a river with lots of room. Great family place
Cabin was great and the area scenic. There's not a lot around there, so this is a bit of a welcome oasis. Could've been cleaner and they had a silverfish issue...but overall it was a good stay.
Great location for exploring John Day Park locations. Very comfortable. Make sure you download the directions beforehand as there is no WIFI in the surrounding areas.
Very comfortable. Just one bedroom, but plenty of room for cots. Saw deer, antelope and turkeys from the firepit! Heard the sand hill cranes heading somewhere.
