DO NOT book with Christian! Choose a different host, even at a higher price point. Donât let the lower advertised price convince you to book with this host. I am convinced that his company is a scam. I have no reason to speak ill of anyone, but rather to protect other innocent travelers from falling victim to the same terrible experience. As the saying goes, things that seem too good to be true, usually are. We booked a property through Christian 2.5 months prior to our travel dates. Full payment was given via VRBO. Multiple messages were exchanged with the host via the VRBO platform. Everything seemed normal. This was meant to be a dream family vacation to Kauai over the holidays. Thanks to Christian, our dream turned into a nightmare! Just a few hours before our flight to Kauai, at nearly midnight, we received an automated message that our reservation had been canceled. There was no phone call, just a text message. Christian could not be reached, and his company just had a voice mailbox. We lost the first few days of our 7 day trip trying to find replacement housing in Kauai - over the New Year holiday - which was next to impossible since the island was nearly fully booked. VRBO support was helpful, but difficult to reach at times, and was restricted to the same limited availability of lodging options.I am sure I am not the first guest that has had this experience. Save yourself from the headache and frustration. Shame on you, Christian!
Really enjoyable stay in a great location, perfectly nice resort, quiet, nice large TVs that work, well-maintained pool and hot tubs. Above all this is the friendly and helpful staff who filled our stay with Aloha.
Great, good location nice facility and easy to book and good communication. Only problem was the sliding door was very hard to lock so we didn't use the patio.
Very close to poipu and shipwreck Beaches with gorgeous sea views, that's the highlight. But: the property is in the middle of a big update, long overdue. Could be 7 yrs or more before it's done, so there's sporadic disruption. Be sure to inquire about the specific building you're assigned to; we had to request another room when workers and machinery moved in close by. Not sure how rooms are assigned or whether the property knows where you'll be ahead of your arrival. Overall, worth the hassle for the location, but there are tradeoffs.
we truly like the point as you can by the number of times we stayed there. The construction by the adult pool was constant with two big rigs daily.it was mentioned to the front desk and basically ignored. I should have made direct contact with the manager to voice my concern but management really should have taken the initiative and offered some type of compensation to its. Quests.. we were not the only quests voicing displeasure.I WOULD HAVE TO RATE MY STAY AS IRRITATING TO SAY THE LEAST
This is a very nice resort in a great part of town! Easy to access shopping restaurants and beaches! The resort is nice but has not been updated or had Maintenance on some of its buildings in a very long time!
Overall excellent stay. Place seemed like it was newly renovated. Everything was spotless. Pool is wide and shallow: great for kids. Location is convenient and close to beach and grocery store and a few restaurant. Minor complaint would be that the floors are thin, so you can hear people walking in the units above you. But overall I would recommend.
Top location near the ocean, perfect weather, nice resort. The ocean is just 50 feet from my patio. A scenic ocean trail goes for miles along the coast, with amazing views of cliffs and bluffs. Turtles, seals, rare birds and roosters and hens are a common sight. Nice beach and park is in walking distance. Kauai is my new favorite hawaii destination. The island is not too overcrowded with tourists (in January). The kitchen and bathrooms are somewhat outdated, but I don't mind that. Somewhat noisy neighbors upstairs, but that is to be expected .Somewhat noisy AC fans from adjacent units, but that is to be expected.Plenty of free parking. Will come again!!!
Great location 5 minutes drive from Poipu beach. The property is very clean with a nice pool and hot pool area. There are beautiful small waterfalls and ponds with fish around the pool area. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with a view of the ocean and enjoyed our stay. Good dining options within 5-10 minutes drive.
The property was beautiful and the rooms and pool were family friendly! My kids had a blast at the pool and the on site bar and grill was good food and very convenient not to have to leave and gather everyone up in the car to be able to eat.
While the accommodations were decent, the maintenance of the exterior buildings and grounds definantly has room for improvement! The pictures online certainly look grander than the resort itself. Parking is awful and a long distance from some of the buildings.
The check in process was problematic. We arrived at 3:30 and "the room was not ready, but at 4pm it miraculously was then ready! As I was getting the keys I was asked to sign a form asking how I knew the owner, what I paid for the rental, etc. The form was not a document with identifying features and I was led to believe it was mandatory or I couldn't complete the check in! After that, the accommodations were good, the views were great and the hotel staff were friendly. The pool was popular with children and the pool bar had a nice hostess who took food orders.
Exceeded our expectations. We thought this would be simply a place to sleep as we did other island adventures, but we ended loving the property and immediate area so much that we rarely left the area for our 3 days. Shipwreck beach is beautiful and easy 3 minute walk and we absolutely loved it. Overall, exceptional value and great condo. Hope we can come back soon.
