Perfect hotel right by the railway station

Very happy with our stay at APA. Easy check in, could leave our bags as we arrived early.bStaff friendly and professional. Room size was small of course but not as bad as anticipated. The bed was king size and very comfortable! Very clean. Clean towels dropped off each day. Quiet. Highly recommend and would stay again.

The room was small, but very comfortable and functional. There are no closets or dressers so your luggage is stored under the beds. Some toiletries are provided such as toothbrush/toothpaste, razor, shampoo/conditioner, and bodywash. The hotel is conveniently located a block from Kyoto Station which has many shops and restaurants inside. Several 7-Elevens, Familymarts, and Lawsons' are located nearby. My only issue was the wait for an elevator during peak hours of check-outs. Although there are 3 small elevators, we waited over 10 minutes for an elevator on a Sunday morning.

Hotel was very clean, staff were friendly and very helpful with arranging the luggage transfer. They have a public bath, but unfortunately we were not able to utilize them due to large tattoos. (Must be able to cover with, at most, two 10x12cm stickers) we had a double room with king bed. Room was larger than others that we’ve stayed in, it had plenty of floor space for me to have three suitcases open as I repacked our clothes and many purchases. Bed was comfortable. Hotel was less than five minute walk from Kyoto station, plenty of restaurants around, and had a 7/11 across the street.

The hotel is good location. You can open the window. No heat control on the room. Toom was extremely small for a king. Elevator service was dismal. I would not stay again.

We would stay here again

We had a good stay here. It is close to the train station, but be advised there is another hotel across the street with a similar name. Lots of restaurants and shops close by and good transportation choices withing walking distance (buses, subways, etc) We arrived in the morning, and they held our luggage for us. It also has a nice onsen. The room is a little tight, so be prepared to store you suitcases under the bed. (It's high up for just that purpose)

Check out time 10 am. Check in 15 pm. We asked if we coud check out at 11 am they told that it would have a charge. Very small room. WE have a king bed. There was only 20 cm between the bed and the wall. Withe the TV on that wall. Shoud be a contorsionist to go to the other side. Bathroom was the smallest seen. If the room was small the bathroom was very very small. We have problems with the drainage and the bathroom get flooded. You have to place the stiker to make up your room. There was a line to get into the breakfast saloon.They put signs in the elevator to give you idea when the elevetor has jam hours. I would say that this hotel instead of being service oriented to the client is orientes to their own service,

This hotel was close walking distance to the Kyoto Station which is the subway station as well as the shinkansen (bullet train) station, therefore easy to get around Kyoto as well as transferring to and from other cities. We paid for the buffet breakfast which was mediocre, however convenient rather than looking for a place to eat in the morning. The hotel and room were both clean and nice.

As a westerner, I knew the hotel rooms in Japan run smaller, but the two beds in our room were so tightly next to each other they might as well have been one bed. I also did not like not having control of the temperature in the room as it was all centralized so if it was a certain temperature outside it would only cool or heat, and I’m pretty sure I got a cold alternating from the room either freezing or being a sweat box. Also not a fan of the bathroom setup having the toilet, sink and tub tightly packed in a small room you had to step up into. Overall the staff was great (spoke English and helped forward luggage) but I would not choose to stay here again. I picked this hotel largely for its location next to Kyoto station and price, but would definitely splurge for one with more space the next time I’m in Kyoto.
