Highly Recommended Kyoto Hotel

Hotel NOHGA is a fantastic hotel in a great location! The rooms are very large - especially by Japanese standards. The ambiance was modern and relaxing, the amenities were luxurious, and the staff was welcoming and attentive. We also enjoyed the food at the bakery and restaurant.

What an amazing hotel! The staff at Nohga was super nice and spoke perfect English (which made everything smooth for us). The rooms were super comfy and the restaurant, rooftop bar and cafe were THE BEST! Must book here you won't regret it.

Great spot for a couple!

Excellent hotel!! Highly recommended for couples that want to explore Kyoto. Within walking distance to most everything and the hotel is very clean and comfortable. Definitely check out the rooftop bar and restaurant.

Good hotel in good location but not for families

We had a good stay at this hotel although for Golden week, it seemed a bit overwhelmed (especially the breakfast). There were long lines with waiting times of about 15-20 mins for breakfast but the staff did a pretty good job handling it. It was a bit disappointing to see that they didn’t have high chairs for children so it doesn’t seem like this is a kid-friendly hotel. It is however well situated in between traditional places like Gion (about 15 mins walk) and the modern areas with all the shopping a short walk away. The rooms were very dark and the bathrooms were a bit interesting—the sink in the toilet room was tiny and there was no hands soap in there to wash your hands , not a big deal since you can go to the shower room and wash your hands but still a bit different. The beds were comfortable and the perfect height especially with children. The sofa in the room was not the most comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating, the cafe in the lobby had some nice treats. Don’t expect much of a view from the rooms. Overall I think it’s a good hotel for a couple or solo travelers but not so much for families.

Loved our stay here! Staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant and roof top bar was fantastic! Only downfall was that the walls were a little thin, so could hear the TV next door and child crying (only for a short period of time)

The Best Hotel in Kyoto

This was the best hotel we stayed at in Japan. Very updated, modern and beautiful. We loved the bakery and coffee in the lobby. We loved the rooftop bar. About a 20 min walk from nice shops and restaurants and Nishika market. We would come back!

Great stay

My girlfriend and I stayed with our little son and had a perfect stay. The room was perfect, the staff was very nice and heldum and we loves the vibe at Nogha and often spent time just hanging out in the lobby with coffee and baked goods or on the roof top terrasse when we weren’t out exploring the city. We will definitely be coming back :)

Nice hotel. Good location. Not very comfortable rooms. There was a tiny area next to the bed for a water bottle and phone. No space for a book or anything else. At night there were LED lights on the thermostat and inside the bathroom that were too bright. A flashing LED behind the TV that was annoying. The bidet on the toilet had black mold over the module. The whole room was grey - walls, floor, bathroom. The sink was outside the bathroom which was awkward. Would not recommend.

My wife wanted to eat at Cicon EVERY night… and her palate is world class. Great location for those obsessed with their step count. Super convenient to Gion. 10/10 - give me fourteen of them, now. Staff is top notch… outstanding. Roof deck rocks. On-site laundry is clutch. Comfy beds. Wild shower. Just book it. And he bakery… wow.

Great hotel in a good area. Walkable to Gion and Kyomizu Dera temple. Lovely restaurant. Cool roof top bar. Great Breakfast buffet. Staff was very helpful in various requests including helping me find an MSG friendly restaurant and then facetiming with me when I couldn't locate it (as is bound to happen). 7 min walk from local train station. I would stay here again.
