AC was effective, kitchen had microwave and refrigerator which were useful. Beds were clean. Host provided dry towels daily. Watch for Tiny ants. the host gave us a spray for that but still a nuisance as they got into my clothes in the bag.
I so enjoyed my time on the hammock on the patio I almost didnât want to leave! This property is so cozy. There are cute ducks in the pond in the center of the cabins. The WiFi was excellent.
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights, and the property was excellent! The cabin was clean, with a beautiul view of this little aritificial pond that had ducks and fish in it. We were only a 5 minute drive from La Fortuna for groceries, and any time we communicated with Marco, we received a prompt response.
The location is just outside of La Fortuna, about a five minute drive. While it is just off a main route, we did not find the traffic to be too distracting, and the setting is absolutely beautiful. The cabin is very nice, clean and has a hot shower!
Marco, our host, was is very friendly and accommodating, and responded quickly to any questions I had.
The cabin was in a pretty location on the side of a small lake â but the location doesn't match that on VRBO which states it's in La Fortuna town. It's actually several miles out of town, which was a problem for us since we didn't have a rental car and there's no public transport serving the area. The owner offered us a lift into La Fortuna on our first day, but beyond that we had to keep booking Ubers which also were quite unreliable.
The cabin was nice but could do with a bit of upkeep â there were a lot of ants/termites that appeared in our kitchen and a bad smell came up through the drain in the bathroom.
It's also worth noting that despite the tranquil pictures the property is next to a busy road and you can hear the traffic throughout the night.
This was a cozy cabin located in a very cute property. We loved taking our breakfast in the porch to watch the ducks and fish. We had a really lovely stay!! I want to highlight some things that I do wish we had known in advance to feel more prepared though, as the cabin was more rustic than what the listing portrayed.
There were only two of us, but itâs worth noting that the sofa bed was in the front living room area, and the AC was located in the bedroom and worked best with that door closed. Iâm not sure how well it would regulate temps for the whole cabin.
The roof is tin with no insulation so if it rains youâll hear it and it is very loud. We visited during the rainy season so it rained every night of our stay. I had ear plugs and managed to get some sleep during a thunderstorm but my husband was up all night. We slept better the rest of the nights when we got him some plugs too, so we recommend bringing a pair!
Also, the tin roof not having any insulation or sealant allowed for some bugs and lizards to enter to cabin where the corrugated ripples are raised. The lizards were pretty cool! But we had to keep any snacks or food in the fridge to keep them away from bugs.
All in all, it was a great location to get to activities and into town from (we had a rental car of our own) and it was a comfortable stay.
