Great house, a short walk to LaFortuna town center with all the amenities you would need -- Groceries, restaurants and souvenirs. House worked well for our family of 7. Kitchen stocked with decent pots, dishes and cooking utensils. Pool provides a nice break after a day of touring. Property pictures accurately represent house. Listing states no a/c in living area. Additional cooling in those spaces would make the property even better
Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. No parking stress! Private pool all you yourself. Was comfortable for six of us. Host is attentive and easy to communicate with. Thanks!
We stayed with our two sons and their wives and had the best time. The house is great. Nice to have a the pool house bedroom. The pool was wonderful and the location in town was peaceful yet right near the main square. Lots of restaurants and shops. Just down the road from so many great volcano and forest activities. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location within walking distance to restaurants
Property manager was excellent to deal with. Great location and clean property. Pool suite seemed a bit old and dated. Very noisy surrounding area and thought someone tried to enter the main house but when security camera was reviewed they said they didnât see anything. Property does have alarm system installed but we didnât feel the safest.
Location was close and convenient, but secluded from town. Walking distance to town.Needed a few more dish towels in the kitchen. It would have been nice to have additional towels, ( wash cloths, bath towels) for each bathroom as well as additional blanketsWe had trouble accessing the TV, but did didnât reach out for help. Maybe during check in the representative could have demonstrated how to use them. Overall a great experience. We would definitely recommend.
Even better than the photos portray! Loved everything about it. Very clean, beautiful pool area. Walking distance to everything. We named the neighborhood sloth "SebastiĂĄn". Saw him all the time - from chairs at pool area, look way up and to the left in the neighbors tree. Enjoyed watching him each day! Highly recommend and would deconstruct stay here again!
It was in a great location, very quiet, the pool was awesome. It was just what we needed for a big family vacation for everyone to have their own space, but quality time together as well.
Not sure you could find a better location. We were able to walk anywhere in La fortuna and plenty of parking for 2 vehicles. The house was functional but not as polished as the pictures show and we did deal with ants consistently in living areas and even in a few bags during our stay. Pool area was nice and kids loved it despite the constant rain La Fortuna had to offer us.
This listing was the one we were supposed to stay at, but a couple weeks before we were to arrive, a creek flooded that property during a huge storm. The host thought they would be able to repair it in time but a few days before our arrival they notified us that there was just too much damage. However they were so wonderful and found us another location within their group of homes and it was very nice. It is a super nice home: beautifully appointed and clean it had a pool (but not as nice as the one in this listing). It also had a separate room/bathroom in the back. The home we were at is in town, which was a wonderful to be able to walk around and go to restaurants, bars and shops. It was also very close to most of the adventures we did. The property we stayed at is not listed on VRBO. It is listed on other sites and itâs called La Fortuna Downtown Home. The downside of being in town was that it was very noisy. We were in a neighborhood so people going to work at six in the morning and dogs barking so it wasnât really possible to sleep in. But then most of the time we needed to get up by eight anyway. The other thing was the minisplit air conditioner in the master bedroom either blew very cold air or warm. Maybe we didnât know how to work it, but there were no instructions. Need to buy your own coffee, salt, and laundry soap, but they did have plenty of towels & kitchen stuff. Ultimately we had an awesome time. Love La Fortuna & the people there. Definitely recommend!
Mario was a very friendly and nice host. He was also fairly easy to reach. Some clarifications (not complaints!), that I wish I had known before:
1. The house is in town, but it does not come up on google maps as it sits back on an un-named private alley/road. Everyone had a tough time finding it, even locals. I had to turn on my location.
2. The air conditioning is only in the bedrooms. It was hot in the hallway bathroom and common areas. This put a damper on our social time because no one wanted to eat and drink in common areas.
3. The tv in the common area did not work and the tv in one of the bedrooms is not a smart tv so it only had local channels.
4. The entry door must be opened and closed with a key. There were 3 of us with 2 sets of keys. One time 2 of us left separately and our friend was trapped in the house because she did not have a key to open the door and leave. This seems like a safety hazard. We could not open the other sliding doors or back doors.
5. There are no accessible drawers or closets. There are a few shelves and makeshift hanging racks. The hallway bathroom was extremely tiny (toilet almost touched the shower door). Thus, I lived out my suitcase.
6.The alley to house is gravel so it can be difficult to walk
and roll luggage.
Overall, the house was clean and the water had great pressure. The water in also got very hot in all sinks and showers (except for the sink in small bathroom). Great hospitality.
We spent a week in La Fortuna. Having never been to Costa Rica this was the perfect property.
In town, but enough privacy to enjoy the peacefulness of the area.
The property management was exceptional with communication. They answered all questions and were super helpful and very patient with us.
I would totally recommend.
My family and I enjoyed our stay. Great location, walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The pool was a great way to cool off, and the outside covered deck came in handy during afternoon downpours. Was able to book discounted tickets through the host to one of the hot spring resorts. Thanks again!
This was a great place to stay for our time in La Fortuna. The house is just a block away from the center of town and easy walking distance to many restaurants and tour operators. The pool was a very refreshing option in the heat and the space was great for our family's home base as we explored La Fortuna.
Great place to stay in La Fortuna! Close to restaurants and shops. Easy to get to and park on property. We could see a sloth from the back yard. Had a small problem due to very heavy rain but the management group were great and helped us out right away.
Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay here in LaFortuna. Great pool, easy location for walking into town -less than 5 minutes. And yes, there was a sloth in the tree by the house. We were obsessed with him. The house had everything needed! Highly recommend !
