Enjoyed our stay, beautiful view & weather was great. Our only problem was the ceiling height. If we had known it was that low we would have been more prepared.Otherwise
So cozy, clean and quiet. When you open the front door, a pleasant aroma of fresh pine from the interior walls greets you.The views are stunning. The sound of the wind through the trees was almost intoxicating.
The cottage was just as advertised. Cozy, quiet & clean. It was really nice staying there and the owners sharing their beautiful property with us. Very relaxing!
Cozy, clean and comfortable. Appreciated all of the amenities, including the lake viewing tent apart from the cabin itself. Great tucked away spot on the island.
Adorable cottage in the woods overlooking the lake. While beautiful and location is hard to beat for the view a few things to note; 1 there are very steep stairs to the 2nd floor sleeping area (possibly a concern if you need a bathroom in the middle of the night as bathroom is on the 1st floor), and be aware that because it is on an island you have to take the ferry over ($80 round trip with car each time you need or want to go to the mainland), also be aware that the hot water to the shower area is limited (like 1 min. tops). The other item to note if you are a taller person the loft sleeping area has a very low ceiling, I am 5'4" and I had to duck to walk in the space. Overall responsive customer service and nice stay.
Our stay was perfect - we were looking for relaxing and thatâs exactly what we enjoyed! The cabin was perfect! Neat, clean and beautifully decorated, bed gave a good nights sleep every night!
We just loved it!
2 of us and our small dog. The view is unbelievable, it really is a magical place. This is a very small but well equipped, tastefully decorated lil gem. The large bed is in a loft with little headspace for any tall people. Yes, the gazebo is private to the renters. There are neighbors on both sides, so not super private. We met the closest neighbors and they were very nice and quite knowledgeable about the island, etc. While we were there, we had deer and hummingbirds in the yard daily, and even spotted a coyote one evening. There is a small store on the island and a slightly larger one in Bayfield. We rode our bikes most of the time and always enjoy a nice cold Margarita at Tom's burned down bar. The kid at the bike/rental shop was super helpful as well, sorry that I can't recall his name.
The cabin was exactly what we needed for a weekend away! The area overlooking the water was our favorite part with views of sunset and sunrise. The place has a well stocked kitchen with just the right amount of stuff to prepare meals.
The owners were great to work with! We left behind an item that they even shipped out to us which we were so appreciative of.
Book this cabin! You wonât regret it.
A cozy space to get away from everything. Only a 10 minute bike ride from town and the ferry back to Bayfield, this hideaway is an ideal home base to see the area.
Very pleasant location and decor, and generally well equipped. Renters may want to know that the sleeping area ceiling is only five feet high, and that the house has a holding tank instead of a septic system.
We spent a wonderful week at this cozy little cabin in the woods. I stress that the cabin is little, but it is perfectly sized for a vacation for 2. The location is perfect, with sunrise and moonrise views of Lake Superior. You can easily bike to town, or the amazing state park, or grab a good book and just kick back and relax in the covered gazebo. There is plenty to do on or around the island, plus the ferry runs regularly enough that it's easy to head to Bayfield and the surrounding area for the day. There is something for everyone on Madeline Island!
