Iâm usually not picky when it comes to hotels but this one wasâŠwow. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the smell. We were supposed to be in a smoke free room but the room smelled like smoke. There was a hole punched into the wall and the heaters must have been broken or something because we turned it all the way down and the room was still too hot to sleep. We saw a couple bugs on the wall which isnât too surprising considering the yellowing and other stains on the pillows. We only stayed because it was too cold to sleep in the car.
First "non-smoking" room had so much cigarette odor, too bad to stay in. Second "non-smoking" room also had smoke but not as bad. What's the point of offering non-smoking rooms if the room smells like an ash tray?
We didn't end up staying here. We were in the room for ten minutes and decided to leave. There were bugs everywhere, the room was very dirty and the bedding was stained. There was also a dog barking next door. Never again!
Very nice room and bathroom, small quirks that were overlooked. The woman who checked me in was very nice and I didnât need to wait for my room at all and she even showed me where my room was as well. Would definitely stay again
Motel 6 is relatively cheap but you get what you pay for:
1. No maid service offered during stay. They gave one day's worth of towels at check-in even if staying multiple nights. Not crazy about going to the front desk every day for fresh towels.
2. No kleenex tissues. There were no dispensers in the room so it appeared that it was not normally available. Also, there was only one bar of soap and that was a USED one that was not much more than a sliver.
3. Paper thin walls. Could hear adjoining rooms clearly like they were in your room.
4. HVAC unit made a scraping noise constantly like aomeone was actually in YOUR room moving about. This made it harder to sleep than the paper-thin walls.
5. TV did not work. It would turn on but nothing after, just a message of "No Signal." Checked but nothing seemed disconnected. This might be serious problem, depending on how much one expects to be in the room.
The place smelled of mold or mildew. The person who checking me in was not friendly. And there was NOT A SINGLE TOWEL in my room. I called the front desk, and they said they would bring some towels up to me. 2 hours later I had to go down to the front desk and get my own. I wouldn't stay here again for free
