Big Timbers

Big Timbers is a wonderful place to stay. It is right at the north entrance to Itasca State Park. It is clean and comfortable and there is plenty of space. I love the cabin feel to the room. It has such a cute gift shop with pizza and ice cream available. We would stay here again.

Trip to Itasca State Park

The place was very new, clean, comfortable, quiet & relaxing. Great location, too. Basically right next to the north entrance of Itasca State Park where we spent our time. After a long day of exploring & hiking, we looked forward to relaxing back at our room, sleeping in comfortable beds with A/C & running water. To us it was the best way to go “camping”. There is an ice cream/gift shop next door to our unit where we treated ourselves to ice cream cones. And across the street is a general store/gas station if you need to purchase convenience items. We would definitely stay there again.

Great Location

We were lucky to find Big Timbers for our Itasca State Park weekend. The location is ideal being right across the street from the North entrance. The rooms perfect size for a small family or couple. Everything was new and clean and we had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved the ice cream and pizza from the store on site.

Maybe should not be called a lodge?

Lovely room in a set of 4 maybe more like a motel large parking lot no landscaping out front. That being said, the room itself was great. The location near the north entrance was super convenient. I just because of it's name expected something else so was a bit disappointed to start.

Across the Road From Itaska State Park

Clean, close, convenient to the park. The back window looks out at a forest of pine, where we saw a large flock of wild turkeys one morning. If your plan is to visit the place where the Mississippi River begins, this is the place to stay.

We loved the proximity to the park and had a really great stay. The host was friendly and helpful. My kids loved the ice cream shop next door. The room was clean and comfortable. I'd highly recommend it!

Our stay at Big Timber’s

Property was very well kept and in great shape. Really enjoyed our time at Big Timber’s. Christine was very helpful and accommodating really enjoyed her gift shop and ice cream. What are the big benefits of staying? There is one of the few places in that area where you can actually stay less than one week 
most of the resorts in that area.. it’s one week or more.

Trip to Itasca State Park

Christine, the owner of the VRBO, was very friendly and accommodating! The place is lovely and just outside of the park. We rode out bikes into the park both days! We would highly recommend this place! Five star in our book!!

Clean and Super Comfy!

Loved the room to stay in for a couple days. We needed a last minute alternative to tent camping, and Big Timbers had a room available for us. Just a short distance from the North Entrance of Itaska- it made the family adventure much more comfortable and doable for us this year. Worked great for a family with young kids and 36 week pregnant mama! Loved it and would recommend! The ice cream and gift shop was an added bonus - especially for the kids after long adventure days at the state Park.

The place is like brand new. Great place to go after a day out on the trails. And a added plus for the kids and adults was ice cream and pizza. High recommend this place.

What a wonderful find!

We were very pleased with the place. The manager was there during the day, running their new ice cream shop. Yummy! It had everything we needed. Very clean. A big bathroom and plenty of space. The Fridge even had enough room for a bag of ice. Beds were comfortable. We plan on visiting again. If you needed anything response was quick. They even accommadated us when we messed up on our arrival time.
