Family vacation

Perfect place for our large group ranging in age 2-77. It was nice having two gathering spots in both the big and little wolf cabins; everyone had plenty of space. The house is only a short drive to the Rumbling Bald resort, which was nice that we could take advantage of all the amenities there. Only a short drive to Asheville and Chimney Rock. (Both are fantastic)! Krysta was a wonderful hostess, with great communication along the way. The welcome guide laid out everything clearly and made the check-in and check-out process very easy. We loved our time in Lake Lure! Until next time! đŸ•ïžâ€ïžâ›°ïž

Fantastic location for extended family vaca!

Close to enjoy all that RB at to offer (< 10 min drive) — fireworks on the 4th (best ever!), Dirty Dancing movie night on the lawn, smores at sunset, pool and lazy river to cool off.

Delightful stay at Lake Lure

With a group of 14, the 2 house set up was perfect. The use of the resort amenities was perfect for the kids and grandchildren. They loved the lake, pools and pickleball! The homes were clean and the host was wonderful. I highly recommend this property. We will reserve it again when we return to Lake Lure!

Triumphant and Comfortable Annual Family Trip

Our stay at Big Little Wolf House was wonderful! We were provided with a welcome booklet prior to our arrival which answered several questions before we arrived. Krysta, our hostess, was beyond helpful and responsive when contacted through the VRBO app. The main house was large enough to house our three adult children and their spouses. It gave our young grandsons a room of their own to share (each had a bed of his own!). Our 15-month-old granddaughter was thrilled to have a big girl bed, a toddler bed, set up in the queen-sized bedroom closet, lol. The mother-in-law's apartment was large enough to hold family-themed dinners every night, as it is more open concept. It also has a king bedroom and a queen bedroom. Both houses have well-equipped kitchens and feature large washers and dryers. The parking pads outside have ample space for four vehicles. Some suggestions for families wishing to do what we did: Pack a folding table for the upstairs apartment for family meals. We used the chairs from both homes and the stools for seating. As for the amenities offered in Rumbling Bald, we enjoyed everything from swimming to kayaking to mini golf. Chimney Rock was beautiful and several of the restaurants were excellent. Steer clear of The Lakehouse Restaurant. It took us over 2 1/2 hours to eat, one of us didn't get our meal, and it cost a fortune for a less-than-pleasant experience. Overall, it is true to say that Little Big Wolf House allowed us to Have The Time of Our Lives!

Lake Lure Extended Family Vacation

This is our second year staying here for a vacation with extended family and that speaks volumes! My husband, myself, two sister-in-laws, grown daughters, niece and six grandchildren all went on this trip. The main house was perfect for the moms with kids and the garage apartment was a wonderful place for us grandparents and aunts to have a separate spot for sleeping and morning routines! The property is just as described (clean and well stocked with kitchen needs, linens, towels, etc) and Krysta is GREAT! She is always quickly responsive with communication and helpful advice if needed.

Slice of heaven!

It was so refreshing to walk into such a clean and well maintained property! The house was exactly as it was listed in VRBO and again, very clean. The owners were very responsive to questions. The area above the garage was super cute and spacious. The only potential opportunity is the a slight smell of gas that comes up from the garage into the space but it wasn't a constant issue. Such a nice time had by our entire party. I highly recommend! Thanks so much!

Family time

We were looking for a family getaway somewhat last minute and this fit the bill. We had our adult children and grandchildren ranging in age from less than 2 y/o up to 15. The two houses were perfect. Our children with children stayed in the main house and our son and his girlfriend stayed with us in the separate two bedroom guest house. The owner was so quick and responsive with an area wide power outage upon checkin. She stayed in touch throughout our stay. We had an amazing time and truly enjoyed our stay. Lake Lure 2023

The interior of both houses were incredibly clean and spacious. We were comfortable the entire time, loved how quick it was to get to the pool and lake and appreciated how responsive the host was! We had an absolute blast and having both houses was perfect for our group of friends and family. One morning i woke up to let my dog outside and she got stung by a yellow jacket, we quickly figured out they had began building a nest overnight inder the front step of the porch. I messaged Krysta and she immediately contacted and exterminator to come take care of the bees so we could continue our vacation. Of note, the house is well-maintained, these bees came overnight. I was so appreciative of her quick response and how attentive she was to our many questions prior to the trip. We wojld stay here again and highly recommend it!

Nice stay

The property was a great place to stay! We liked having the 2 seperate houses making it private for each family ❀ My kiddos loved the wildlife and seeing deer right outside the window! Only suggestion I would say is in a few of the bedrooms there weren't side tables or dressers to put luggage and there weren't lamps, but if that's the only negative I'd say this vrbo owner is doing a pretty great job and we'd stay here again!

Perfect property for extended family vacation!

Our family included members from 69 years old to 9 months old and this property was the PERFECT solution! The older members occupied the 2 bedroom completely equipped and tastefully decorated apartment over the garage and the young families occupied the main house. The host, Krysta, was friendly, courteous and professional. We had no issues with the property but she was readily available with timely answers to all our questions and generous with her advice on the area. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this host and this property to anyone! We hope to make this an annual trip and will definitely contact Krysta again for reservations!

Great fit for our family.

This location and the homes were a great fit for our family vacation with 6 adults, 2 teens, and 3 kids; plenty of room to spread out and the private suite was useful when the “old folks” and the teens needed some separation. Rumbling Bald Resort with its attractions was a short drive away and available to us as guests, and Lake Lure and Chimney Rock were also a close trip. Plenty of privacy, enough to attract lots of wildlife - turkeys and deer were spotted quite often.

We enjoyed our stay. There are a few items that need to be addressed: Cookware and plates are very limited for a house advertised as housing 16. There are only table lamps in one bedroom and only bedside tables in two (out of six) There was not enough seating space at the tables if 5he group wanted to eat together There was only one hot pad and very few kitchen towels

Absolutely what we needed! Perfection!

I needed a place in the area that would work for hosting friends and family the weekend of my wedding and this place was PERFECT! Layout was comfortable and well thought out. My aunt was making my wedding cake and I had her in the Little Wolf house - she literally screamed and jumped when she saw the kitchen. Krysta was super sweet, very accommodating, and responsive. Would love to stay again in the future, definitely highly recommend. The only downside is that the wifi was slow, but I think that is unavoidable given the remoteness of the house.

Quiet location

Our stay here was good. The apartment over the garage was very clean and well maintained. The main house was not as clean an maintained, but it was not terrible. It was a very quiet location and we enjoyed the huge back porch and fire pit on the porch. But the house is NOT in the Rumbling Bald Resort. We were about 5-7 miles away from the resort. I thought we were staying inside the resort. Overall the stay was nice we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Perfect getaway

This is the cutest house! My fiancé and our friends really wanted a fun getaway and have never been to Lake Lure. We found this house and it was perfect. All beds are comfortable. All showers have good pressure. The kitchens have everything you could ever need. On top of all of this-seriously they are the cutest houses. The location is perfect as well. Easy to find and a short drive to the resort which has a beautiful beach and fun pool/lazy river area. We brought our own paddle boards for the lake. *If anyone else does this please know that you have to go into the town to get permits for them. It was super easy. The lake is clean and everyone is so nice. It was the perfect friends weekend-we will be back.
