Multi family home

There were 13 of us ranging in age from 74 to 6. The house had lots of living spaces for relaxing, playing cards & games. The kitchen was awesome. Lots of counter space and plenty of seating.

Beautiful Golf and relaxing weekend

Smooth check in process, beautiful lake and mountain views. Immaculate interior, amazing kitchen and grill. All the beds were comfortable, and plenty of space throughout the house. Easy walk/drive to all amenities and good location for a golf trip. Very well stocked house! Thanks for a beautiful house and time!

Great family retreat

Our family (7 adults, three children) enjoyed the lovely home and the amenities at Rumbling Bald resort. The listing description and photos were accurate. A new Blackstone grill has been added. The house has a well equipped kitchen, great space for the family to gather inside and outside on the porch and deck. The bedrooms were roomy and provided good privacy and comfort for everyone. We prepared most meals at home and having the extra refrigerator was helpful. The family and kids enjoyed the great pool and beach at the lake. We rented a pontoon for a cool trip around the lake and took a dip in a quiet cove. The Apple Valley Golf Course was close and was a fun course to play. The kids loved the miniature golf. Overall, we had an excellent experience.

Great house for a large family gathering.

This house was beautiful! Very clean (which is key in my opinion), well stocked, and large for my extended family to all stay and have a comfortable space. I would highly recommend staying here if your visiting the lake Lure/Rumbling bald area.

Well equipped, lots to do

We have everything we needed for a comfortable stay from a 15 year old to an 80 year old. Large kitchen made it easy to make meals and the game room, games, ping pong table, and hot tub provided us plenty of at home activities when we weren’t running around enjoying all the Rumbling Bald and Lake Lure have to offer. Much recommended! The host was very responsive and proactive even anticipating our needs.

Great Family Vacation

This property is one of the best homes we have ever stayed in and Laurie was great to work with. We had 3 generations staying in this home. There was so much space for everyone. The layout was perfect where kids had a great space to play upstairs without worrying about the little ones getting out of the house without you knowing. The kitchen is well stocked and Laurie was there to provide anything we needed. The resort has something for the whole family. We will definitely stay again.

Wonderful home for a large family

Great reunion spot

A great stay in Rumbling Bald. The house was perfect for our four couples as everyone had their own king bed and private bath. MAY be the best equipped Vrbo house at which we've ever stayed. Private location and plenty to do. Communication was terrific. We will come back!

Ladies' Weekend

We were a group of 8 empty nester moms on a long weekend getaway. This property was perfect. It was extremely clean and comfortable. The extra fridge was a plus. We enjoyed the ease of the fireplace and hot tub. The table was big enough for all of us to eat and play games. There is also an additional 4 person table perfect for cards or puzzles. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking with plenty of dishes and cooking accessories. Some of us hiked in the areas and others enjoyed water aerobics at the fitness center. We visited in February so no water activities. Will definitely book again if we have a big enough group.

Lovely Hoise for Multifamily stay

We had two families (11 in all) celebrating Thanksgiving. Great house - well appointed and large kitchen, large dining table, game room, multiple social areas for playing cards and chatting. Rooms were spacious and you can have separation/privacy when you need it as well as space for gathering. Hot tub a nice touch. The fitness facility beach and pool was a 0.5 to 0.75 mi walk (probably wouldn't walk it after dark - narrow road) or drive. We loved chimney rock (25-30 mins away) and other local hiking. Great place to connect with family and/or friends and enjoy the great outdoors.

Definitely a favorite!

In the past 10 years or so I’ve stayed at a lot of properties under Homeway and VRBO and I have to say this ranks with the very best. Everything was as stated. Scott was a super attentive host, and always just a text away. Beautiful property in beautiful country. Lots of good restaurants and things to do including hiking and boating. I don’t think I can say enough good things about it!

Great vacation home

The house had more than enough space for 3 families, with a huge kitchen that was perfect for gathering. The views are fantastic, the house is well-stocked and most importantly for us very clean! Having nearby restaurants, easy access to the lake and pickleball and mini golf within a couple of minutes were big hits. The property manager was easily accessible and was quick to follow up with any questions. We would recommend this house for anyone wanting to enjoy the water and mountains all in one place.

Perfect getaway!

Our stay at Starry Ridge was wonderful. The house was very spacious and clean and location was perfect. Rumbling Bald resort felt safe, quiet and was not overly crowded - perfect for a relaxing lake/mountain getaway. The amenities and special events (s'mores and fireworks!) at Rumbling Bald were an added bonus! Everything we needed was close by or within 15-30 minutes drive. Back to the home itself: The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Bathrooms had hand soap(yes!!) and stocked with plenty of towels, toilet paper and shampoo/body wash. The kitchen was fully stocked and had plenty of room for us to not feel crowded-loved the large island! We loved the welcome area with snacks and cards. There were tvs in every bedroom and WiFi signal was strong. Kids enjoyed the pac man game and shuffle board in the game room. The laundry room was also great with plenty of detergent and cleaning supplies. The garage had a stroller, beach chairs and other items, though we did not need to use them. The driveway had plenty of room for 3 cars. The owners have thought out every detail well. Lastly, we really appreciated the temperature settings for the thermostat as many rentals recommend much higher settings for summer. Communication was on point. Our host was extremely responsive, helpful and professional. We were provided with clear instructions and information both ahead of and during our stay. We look forward to returning again in the future!

Gorgeous Home - Perfect for Large Family Gathering!

This home was perfect for our family! It is very spacious with a wonderful screen porch area, large fully equipped kitchen, hot tub on the deck, enough king beds for all in our extended family, and best of all - the amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort. We had a blast! The property manager was extremely helpful with great suggestions and advice for an absolutely wonderful vacation!

An amazing stay!

We had a family reunion and this was the perfect house. It was beautiful inside and out, well stocked and in a fantastic location. Communication with the host was excellent. The community amenities kept kids and adults alike active and happy! We have already talked about coming back!

Nothing short of amazing

To say we were impressed is an understatement. This was our first time in Lake Lure; my family and I had a blast. There were 10 of us (9 adults and 1 child) total and we had plenty of room. The amenities inside and outside the home were great. We ate in most nights, and the only thing that could have been a little better with the house was that the stove did not heat the few pans they had quickly, causing dinner time to take a little longer, but no one complained and we actually used the burners on the grill which worked better. The property manager on site is extremely responsive and respectful. He made sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. He also sent us recommendations for a van service to take our family on a wine tour and for our groceries to be delivered AND PUT AWAY before we arrived (totally recommend this service!!). The grocery store is quite a distance away, and having a fully stocked home on arrival is great. The resort itself was beautiful as well, the lake was clean, clear, and warm. We had a blast during our week, I would return in a heartbeat.
