Perfect, we really enjoyed this lovely little house. Easy access, great amenities, beautiful outside patio in the back, fire pit, grill, nice neighborhood and great seating out in front of the house. The hostess go above and beyond with all kinds of little extra's. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

Relaxing getaway

We had an absolutely wonderful time during our weekend getaway at this house! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay.The layout was perfect for both socializing and finding quiet moments. The living area was cozy and inviting, and the kitchen was fully equipped—ideal for cooking meals together. The outdoor space was a highlight with the fire pit. The location was also ideal—close enough to local attractions and dining, but tucked away enough to feel private and peaceful. It was exactly the kind of escape we were looking for. The Highly recommended.

Okoboji Getaway

This was our second stay at The Getaway. It's such a perfect place for us- close to Okoboji, a nice swimming pool and a playground. The accommodations are clean, eye appealing & have everything you need for a comfortable stay! The Cornhole game was a fun addition!

Cozy house that is very well maintained with 2 bedrooms on the main floor and 1 in the basement with its own bathroom. The hosts even provided cheese and crackers and other snacks which was extremely appreciated after a 9 hour drive from Indiana. We had 6 adults in our party and the house did not feel crowded. The game room in the basement provided an awesome place for us all to hang out. Would highly recommend staying here.

Bed & pillows very comfortable. Plenty of towels. Nicely furnished & decorated. Had everything supplied to cook meals. Hosts were very accomodating, promptly replied to texts. Basement was very nicely done, included washer & dryer. Even had rollaway beds available.Didn‘t get to spend much time in the backyard because of rain, but great gathering place.

Togetherness Time

The owners had snacks, coffee, hot chocolate, and a charcuterie board ready for us. Everything was clean and well-organized. The downstairs was the perfect place for the grandchildren to have fun together.

Great stay

Very nice and quiet spot to stay. Very clean and stocked with snacks and games. The tabletop fire was a perfect end to the night. Will definitely stay again when visiting okoboji! Only complaint is there were a lot of spiders around the outside of the front and back door.

Fun little end of summer vacation at The Getaway

The Getaway is a cute and cozy little gem in Lake Park, IA. Close enough to Spirit Lake/Okoboji/Arnolds Park without having to stay in the hustle and bustle. The house is very spacious, the bedrooms were all good sized and it was nice having two full bathrooms. Our kids enjoyed the game room and Pac-Man in the basement. All the comforts of home with great outdoor space. There are plenty of towels and bedding on hand, a washer and dryer to clean your clothes and we appreciated all the dimmer switches for the lights. The only things we thought could be improved-a dehumidifier in the basement and a few extra nightlights. There is a playground close by and the town is quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend The Getaway!

Cozy clean house

We really enjoyed the stay. The house was very clean and accommodating. They really put a lot of thought into everything that they have provided for your stay and that made the stay that much more comfortable being away from home. The basement was great and our kids really enjoyed the space. I would definitely rent this place again the next time we decide to come to the Okoboji area.

Week getaway!

The property was neat and tidy with some great extras like meat and cheese tray comfortable beds Fast check in and out. Lovely backyard with shade structure gas grill and gas fire pit. Cornhole game and games in the game room. Lovely stay!

We really enjoyed having our run of a nice house so close to the Iowa Great Lakes. There are many added touches including a nice backyard setup with tables and chairs. The hosts went out of their way to please. We would stay again.

The perfect 'Getaway'

My family and I stayed at The Getaway during the June 2024 Flood of Northern Iowa for a week. The hosts kept us informed of road closures, etc but the proprty itself was never flooded. We had 3 teenagers in towed (17,16 &13) so they love the game room and the backyard with BBQ grill and fire pit. We love the rooms, bathrooms and the small touches such as welcome snacks, complementary treats and fully stocked kitchen ware of the property. It is a short drive to Okoboji without the noise and traffic of it all. We highly recommend the hosts and this property and will definitrly stay here again.

Cozy house with all the amenities.

This was a fishing getaway with my elderly parents. It was nice to have them on one level. Exactly as described. It had everything needed to cook all of our meals. Very clean inside and outside. Nice quiet neighborhood and small community. Enjoyed the bean bags and pac man brought back some good memories. Check in was effortless. Would stay here again if in the area.
