We were down visiting with our new grandchild! The location was great because it was close to our family here and to downtown Lakeland. Hopefully we will be able to book it for future visits.
We were in town for an event. The house was in a perfect location to get to our event in minutes. The house was clean and just as advertised. We will definitely keep it in mind for future stays! Thank you!
cute and cozy bungalow in the heart of downtown Lakeland.
We had the best time at Lake Morton Cottage. When we arrived we walked in and said WOW. Everything was so clean and bright. Check in was easy with the electronic check in. You can tell Anthony takes care and pride in his property. Tastefully decorated with lots of room. The cottage is an old Florida house with tons of character that has been updated. There is an enclosed porch on the front of the house and a deck with a BBQ and seating on the back. There is a laundry set up, but we did not use it. The beds were extremely comfortable. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and it was very quiet. The Funding center, that brought us to Lakeland, was 3 minutes away. On Saturday we went to the sweetest bakery/coffee shop called Kitty Cat Lounge. In a separate room with a big picture window there is a cat lounge with the cats available for adoption. Very clean and no cat smell. For a small fee you can go into the cat room room and play with the kitties. Then onto the Saturday fresh market down town. Wonderful produce and many vendor's wares. The weather was lovely so we also made it over to the Lakeland Brewery. Our whole experience was delightful and it started with our cozy comfortable cottage. Thank you Anthony. Hopefully we will be back next year.
This is the perfect spot while staying in the Lakeland area. The property had ample room for our party of six, was well equipped with multiple TV's, comfortable beds and full kitchen, and one block away from bucolic Lake Morton with its wealth of bird life and natural beauty. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive to all our needs. We definitely would stay here again!
Tradeshow, vacation, hiking, health, birding all taking place in this town during our one week stay. Not the best Florida weather but Mother Nature rules. House was pleasant. Not fancy snanzy, but comfy and warm. Location was the best. Interesting combination of older home with modern gizmos.
Perfect property for Thanksgiving with our college student (we came to her from NC). The kitchen was nicely appointed which was wonderful since we did a ton of cooking while there. Fence was nice for our small dog.
The location was awesome, Literality steps from Lake Morton, Polk Museum of Art, Red Door, Black and Brew etc. The house was alright, clean inside but not the best Anthony Newman property. This is an old house and many things need to be remodeled in and outside of the home. For those reasons we would not stay again even though the location was a plus.
This home was very clean and in safe neighborhood! The description was spot on and even if the rules seem very straight forward they are very easy follow.
Bathroom has mold around window and bottom of shower curtain. Supplied 2 rolls of toilet paper, no trash bags. Outdoor deck not useable due to next door house looking abandoned. Laundry shed filled with junk. Home inside beautiful with exception of bathroom.
This is an ideal location if youâd like to walk explore Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, be near a historic district and a walkable downtown and university. The Red Door restaurant is superior and only blocks away. Youâll enjoy peace and quiet in a rich cultural environment.
This worked perfectly for our quick trip. Clean and comfortable with a quiet neighborhood.
If I had to look for one negative it would be that there is no cable or satellite. The listing needs to be corrected because there is none.
We would stay here again.
The place was very nice and comfortable. Itâs a minute walk from Lake Morton which made it convenient and pleasant. Thereâs a library and coffee shop within a five minute walk. The amenities all worked well.
Loved the location and layout of the house. The kitchen is extremely functional. It is an older home so outlets arenât everywhere like a modern house, but theyâve attempted to battle that issue with power-towers, a very nice work around. Lake Morton has great views and bird watching, downtown is just around the corner, and everything seems to be close. Would stay there again!
This home was cute and was centrally located. It was clean too. The bathroom situation was terrible. It is only 1 bathroom and a half bath. The only shower is the worst shower. The cold is broken and the window is old and gross in the shower. The place needs a another shower! The washer and dryer are in a creepy old shed in the back yard.
We enjoyed our stay. We were visiting family for a graduation, so we weren't there much. We basically slept and took showers there. Every we needed was provided. We would stay again and planning on booking this for future stays!
